The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept in removing hair from dogs. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also quiet and works while you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

Its obstacle detection was superb and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. IRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination features a sleek, circular design that looks much like a Roomba model than the bulky models from the rivals. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. official site was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. 5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app also provides access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It also has strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean the area.
