Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked the return to the traditional sextet format of the previous albums. It was a stronger, more consistent effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the maturation in the group. Bobby Kimball's growing ability to play was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature.
