Origins

The early history of Toto that began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's rapid economic expansion. In the beginning of its existence, the company made products to meet the demands of new, modern urban housing. To do this, it used the first tunnel kiln in the nation to produce ceramics in a continuous flow. It also pioneered the use automation to control production, allowing for more efficiency and consistency.

In the late 1980s, the company began to expand outwards to benefit from sales and new markets. It created the Cera Trading Company, importing and selling other manufacturers' products to complement its own range of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and expanded the market share of the company globally.

By the 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus on research and development for water-related household appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better serve its customers and boost profits. The company used the same approach of just-in-time in its supply chain management as well as sales program. This led to a higher level customer satisfaction.

Toto continued to develop toilet technology. The most recent toilet features a strong, eco-friendly tornado flush. The company also uses recycled water in its manufacturing process and has a green procurement policy. Apart from toilets, Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in energy use than conventional models.

The first Toto museum opened in 2015. It features exhibits on the most iconic products of Toto and their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made of ceramics), the history of plumbing and other products like bath units. In an additional gallery, you can see Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum has a bathroom with a washbasin and other toilet innovations.

Before the formation of Toto members of the group performed session work for various musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also played on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

With a name like Asia one would think that the group would be prog queens and kings - but it's actually a fairly straightforward rock band. The group was formed as a four-piece and released two albums: 1979's self-titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The band has a varied musical background but their biggest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.

Toto's musical mastery owes a lot to their previous experience in the music industry, as the band members were session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior the group. Their sonic signature has since become the standard for '80s pop, influencing many contemporary artists.

The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write great AOR songs that slowly build their hooks into your. The album also features more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations, a song that combines folk with distortion AOR and sounds like a complete flop, but works amazingly well.

After Toto IV The band's fortunes took a turn to the downside. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career. The band was dominated by drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in the after he was charged with drug abuse. the group continued to perform as a trio, which included Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.

The more edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the maturation in the group. Bobby Kimball's growing ability to play was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard work was as well more refined, more precise and less akin to previous recordings.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band's Amsterdam live concert that was released by Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. The group released their new studio album a few months later, and went on a world tour support it. In this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old demos and tapes in search of a new album featuring songs that had never been recorded before. It was released in the form of a double-album called Then And Now in 2001. It was the first album by the band without one single track titled "A". The album also included a previously unreleased track called "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure, and the vocalist Williams suffered from a bad laryngitis condition which hampered his singing. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes along with the other original members of Asia--Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in early 2006 to discuss the possibility of officially reforming the band. This lineup, with the exception of Howe (who was a member of Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. 토토사이트 추천 featured an appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
