Why We Enjoy Item Upgrading (And You Should Also!)

Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, as well as the values of these stats. This means that an upgrade from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid conditions with a large group of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with your friends.
You can't upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

Potions

Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a craft table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion used and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.

Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effects. The potion table has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets

Trinkets can be upgraded once they're no longer useful, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are a popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other items of gear they will not be replacing in the near future (for instance rings or cloaks). Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying a new one.
