1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is an excellent robot vacuum that comes with a range of innovative features that make it much easier to maintain than most competing models. The app will guide you through the entire process. It is also easy to use and set up. Another impressive feature is its ability to return to where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 minutes in one cleaning before running out of battery.
The i3+ EVO unlike the other robot vacuums we have tested, has a self-emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris into an external dirt container on its charging base once it is fully filled. This reduces hands-on maintenance and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still requires manually emptied after every cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's inner dustbin holds 2.4L of waste and is more than enough to get it through four or five cleaning sessions before needing to replace it.
Like the i7model, this model also uses the latest floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, while the i7 is able to store multiple. The i7 can also use its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, however the i3+ EVO can't.
The i3+ EVO is more effective of picking up surface debris compared to some other robovacs we've examined, but it's not the best in cleaning edges and corners. It's also more abrasive on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It was quite rough on furniture, as it pushed chairs away. It also made some collisions against the sides of the bed.

This is one of the first robots we've seen to incorporate 3D mapping. This, along with other innovations, helps it do exceptionally well in our vacuuming and mopping tests. The iMop excelled in our navigation efficiency and coverage evaluations and was adept at avoiding obstacles, including furniture. It can also find its way to the base station in case it runs out of batteries during a cleaning session.
