Holy fucking shit it's fucking hot.

Holy fucking shit it's fucking hot.

reflect on what it was like a year ago then stop whining about it.
Funny how all the countries in the southern hemisphere that came to mind started with A. Has my mind started working in alphabetical order? That would be weird.
Or maybe not. I dunno. What the fuck ever, it's fucking hot.

Not in Australia or Argentina or Antarctica.

Who the fuck let that idiot Trysail into my thread?
no, it was really fucking hot for fucking weeks. half the fucking yard died. it fucking killed my air conditioner.

hell, it was hotter than this in march last year. this aint shit.

I could be. I could be posting from an Antarctic research station. I'm not but I could be.

It's hotter here in upstate New York than in Georgia. Weird ...

Summer of 1978 was much hotter in Indiana.

anyone else experiencing abnormal weather around here or is it just Vancouver?
Some areas around here hit 44 fucking degrees today, thats 112 for all you americans
Shit like this really help me convinced about the global warming crap

its been perfect along the california coast

Heat is like a bully that wont leave you alone. Its just annoying

Snow is just simply the best.

that simile sounded a little gay sorry but yes .

Has only been above 90 here in Tennessee for two days in July. A very mild summer here in TN.

aghhh I hate the humidity so much

i'm so glad we have AC where I work though

If I didn't have AC in the van I drive, I'd have killed myself long ago.

I have no A/C at my house or car and I work as a photographer outside 10 hours a day and I also do landscaping FML!!!

texas. by the bayou. it's fucking jungle heat man.

Thats my main reason for coming to work every day in the summer. I have no AC at my place.

its just chillin at 80 where i am, i love it!!

Yeah fuck man, its 34 right now. and im sure it was up to 38 yesterday

Luckly im about to head out and waterski on my buddys boat

supposed to hit 107 today in portland. I have 3 different fans pointed at me right now.

For people who live in the desert and are talking about the heat there, first of all it's more the humidity than anything that is making this intolerable. Second, we're not used to it. It'd sort of be like it being -20 fahrenheit in your place and all you have is a space heater.
But I'm stoked because somehow my downstairs is super cool and the fan I have going just makes the temp perfect. No shirt is nice too. I was so stoked with the rain and thundershowers. It was still warm but refreshing and I was just out playing in the rain and not even cold. Like a free shower with a sick view of lightning. Climate change is fucked though... Extremes are so much more common now.

You live in a town called Zig Zag, now that's cool.

all time high in seattle today. read: since records were kept in 1898, it has never been hotter

I was chillin in the rain watching the lightning and fireworks at the same time...that was pretty sweet
It basically rained through all July.

nice weather, a high of 95, a river 12ft away.

life sucks

Why the FUCK is it RAINING so much?

ya bro, im in portland right by vancouv and its 107.

seriously the pnw is gettin fucked by hot weather right now

it was 106 at my house on whidbey island yesterday which is soo fuckin hot for here

Really now? 112 is expected here each Summer. It hasn't rained since April, so stop bitching dammit. Hate it when people bitch about the weather. I am expecting more 110+ days, maybe I should bitch about them too?

I was talking about the fact that the PNW is much larger than just Seattle and Portland, and those places other than Seattle and Portland are used to summer heat. I just think "PNW=Seattle" is too big of a generalization and it isn't true at all.

Just remember - everything is relative. Where you live, you are expecting more heat, more 110+ degree days, etc.

The average July temperature in Portland is 76 degrees. It gets hot for us around 90 degrees.

Then when you have it reaching 106 degrees, it is 30 damn degrees hotter than what we are used to. And while 106 might not be anything to you guys, it is a lot for us. Hell, the hottest it has ever been in Portland is 107 degrees.

When you live somewhere, you adapt to the weather. It happened to me when I moved from CO to the PNW. When I lived in CO, I was never bothered by the cold and the summers were nice and sunny.

When I am in CO now, I get colder more easily and the summers was super, super hot for me. Just about what you get used to...

So if you really want to compare what we are used to...
The average July temp in Portland is around 76 degrees, and it got up to 106 a few days ago.
The average July temp in Fresno is around 97 degrees, so it would be like the temperature being 127 degrees there.
Or for Vegas, where the average July temp is 106 degree, it would be like the temperature being 136 degrees.

So if you guys can handle 95-110 with easy, cool. I can do the same with 75-90.

But 106 is way off from what I am used to now. If you guys in Fresno would be comfortable at 127 degrees and in Vegas at 136 degrees, I would be 1) horrified and 2) impressed! But my guess is that both of you would be feeling the heat, just like we have been the last few days.

It hit close to that in upstate NY back in April. For the past two weeks it's been about 85°F (about 30°C) and like 90% humidity. It sucks, especially when you work outside ten hours a day in jeans.

and it's been nearly 120... come out here and tell me it's not miserable.

oh, and i'm moving to Miami in December. something tells me i'll have more to complain about than everyone in this entire thread combined.

where was i bitching? seriously, where was i complaining? explain that to me.

and those three degrees i was pointing out... i was trying to make the point that it's been 115 for two weeks now, not just a couple random hot days. and it's actually started getting even hotter, so we're looking at about 120 for a little bit here.

Scott, keep telling yourself it's relative. just keep saying that to yourself.

every single person sitting in the classroom i'm in right now would tell you the 110+ we're looking at this morning fucking SUCKS and, as you pointed out, it's "average". a buddy of mine who's lived here his entire life made the remark just yesterday that he can't believe that after living here for 22 years, he's still not used to the heat. it's been so hot here that it literally makes you feel sick if you're outside too long. i'm buying a membership to a tanning place tomorrow for a month simply because it's too hot to lay out by the pool for half an hour at this time of year. and i don't care, don't get me wrong, i knew coming out here what i was in for, but it's a joke to imply we're "used" to it- even the true locals hate this damn heat.

i don't care what you have to say about it- you're wrong. when it hits 115 1pm-4pm, we're fucking miserable.

hahaha. like it is something I am clinging to with everything I have...

That statement is by no means universal, there is going to be people who react different to wherever they live. That statement is for the people who don't seem to think 110+ degree weather is anything of note, like a friend of mine from Phoenix who is just a sick fuck when it comes to heat and wouldn't be bothered by 110 degree heat.

If you are bothered by 110+ degree heat, than it just sort of furthers the point. 105-110 degree weather if fucking hot and a lot of people are going to be miserable in it, regardless of where they live. I guess I just feel sorry that you guys have to deal with that on a everyday basis. That would drive me crazy.

At least you guys have good air conditioning!

dude... i'm dressed for hell and the A/C's making it winter in here. haha, our A/C is TOO good at times.

going from 110+ to 70ish is not comfortable. i'd say that i can't wait to leave this damn place, but it's not like i'm moving anywhere that's more comfortable than here...

Oh I know the feeling from spending too much time in Texas. Going from the golf course or something to a very air conditioned car or room can get freezing.

haha get out of there! Although not like Chicago isn't freezing/hot as hell at times.

you've missed the posts in PH over the past few days...

Chicago's out.
Miami's in.

i'm stoked as hell, but... damn, it's going to be hot and sticky.

oh dear god. That is worse. I would rather have 115 degree dry heat than 100 degree heat at 100 degree humidity. I would need to shower 10 times a day......

At least the women are hot.

judging by your name, im gonna guess your from the central valley?

honestly, i love dancing behind my mixer, sweating my ass off... so, i'm really looking forward to getting to Miami and starting my career there as a DJ/producer.

the rest of the time, though... yeah, it's going to be more uncomfortable than Vegas.

Hey welcome to the state next to you! CT is a humid hot hell hole too!

i could give you a longwinded scientific explanation as to why it is hot as fcuk (see? its affecting my brain). but instead im going to be sympathetic because i live to your south in olympia washington. we are at about 105 today. i know how it feels. and its humid as fuck here too. mt hood would be very awesome right now
and your bitching about 3 degrees and it being your choice to wear jeans?
it hit fucking 34.4 in van today .. I was shitting bricks.
it's literally unbearable in the upstairs of my house so I'm sleeping in my basement but it's still at least 25.
definition of oppressive heat right here.
Winter better be banging this year with good snow!
