Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The uPVC/Composite handles are made from robust materials, and are ideal for doors with multiple points that need a heavy-duty design. The handles are inline and use the same spindle and screws to fix them. They can be easily mounted on a new or existing uPVC/Composite door.

The handle can be placed and angled to accommodate the needs of all users. The handle has been endurance tested to 200,000 cycles, which allows for the assurance of the quality of the finish as well as the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is situated further away from the door. A shorter lever is an excellent option for doors that have latches that can be activated by the thumb turn inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently than lever handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handles are operated by one spindle or two spindles inline or offset. They are usually employed on UPVC double glazed doors. They come in many variations & finishes.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White Chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle the best performance and durability to serve the purpose it was designed for.

All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles come with the spindle and screws which allow them to be installed on any new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixing centers of 211mm allow for a wider size handle that can be beneficial when replacing a faulty or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles hanging out of their horizontal position when not in use.

When selecting the replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is important to match the dimensions of the PZ on both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is also referred to as the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect to match the appropriate handles.

Once you have the proper PZ size, you'll have to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are a suitable shape for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you require for your doors. They typically have of a round or square shape, with an internal lever and an external push pad.

The majority of UPVC Lever Pads we sell are sprung. This means they return to a horizontal position when they are not in use, rather than hanging and possibly being stuck in the frame. This prevents drafts and cold air from entering a home. The majority of UPVC lever pad handles come in both left and right handed models which allows them to be placed on either side of doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are commonly used on uPVC doors, but can be utilized on other types of door. The cylinder lock is operated with a key that unlocks the cylinder's casing. This reveals pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is essential. upvc replacement door handles depends on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. External doors, for example, should be fitted with cylinders with greater security while internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. Certain cylinders come with extra features that can increase security, such as anti drill or anti bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole for fixing screws in the middle to the end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place however, in the event that this is not feasible, you can take it off and take it off to measure. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, therefore it is important that it is not too long.

The design of the latest cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to minimize attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This will help to prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.

Some cylinders are designed to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a much faster and simpler method to gain access than through a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which could delay insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned in the base of the door handle backplate, providing a spring solution and returning the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after using. Previously a lot of these types of handle didn't have a spring built into them, and as a result, they can droop or 'drop' once the locking mechanism is disengaged. Adding this simple component is among the most effective ways to fix this issue and is an excellent way to stop your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in either closed or open position, as they aren't always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes have been specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks that are sprung They will not work with non-sprung multipoint handles. You will need to have a hole specifically cut in your backplate in order for them to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a solution to broken or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They have a square cut out which allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and they are supplied individually.
