Why I'm a Simp for Podcast Players

Why I'm a Simp for Podcast Players

Full disclosure I'm doing this because most of the doods that listen to What's The Fuzz?! actually do it through the transistor.fm page for the episode, which is... GREAT! But woefully inefficient at the same time. I. Am. SO. TRIGGERED. Just kidding~!

Let me explain because I was once like you. A podcast app virgin. With a tight asshole not yet packed with a strangely shaped P-logo. Oh yes, I do remember the days of fighting with the caveman-like sound players the browsers provide.

Now I'm accustomed to being a pillow prince--too used to the luxury and letting the apps shove their obtuse, bulbous cocks deep in my ass as I listen to another episode of Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet.

Anyway, enough of how much of a bottom I am FORPODCASTAPPSONLY.

Transistor Web Player

So what's so wrong with this thing, anyway? To most folks that just wanna listen to an episode? Nothing! There's just better ways to enhance the experience.

To start with there's no way to make it go slower if you click on the speed changer you can only go faster, which in most cases, won't help people with English as their first language or thick accents.

Maybe you're studying or have attention problems or issues processing what's being said so you have to listen to things more than once.

With apps like Google Podcasts (usually downloaded onto phones automatically) there's a dial to slow down or speed up the episode to your heart's content. You can do the same thing in my personal favorite Pocket Casts.

Let's talk about Pocket Casts some more. If you enjoy listening to a podcast before bed there's a timer on most podcast players.

In addition to that, you can customize a show you've subscribed to - subscribing to a podcast helps it rise in ranks, is free, and guarantees you'll be updated when the next episode drops - to skip the intro/outro, automatically download the next episode when it's out, set notifications for the next episode, etc.

There's a lot of benefits to using an app that is made for the thing, it turns out! The good thing about the transistor player is that if you hover your cursor over the player a button called "SUBSCRIBE" pops up that shows all the places the show is.

But honestly. Using a podcast app is more convenient, provides a better user experience, and removes the hassle of having to remember to check XYZ for the latest drop. What's not to love?

God, I'm such a simp.

Overcast & Apple Podcasts for Apple product users.

Google Podcasts & Pocket Casts for everyone else. Spotify can be ok too.
