Why I don’t want to participate in the second IV Contest anymore

Anton V

All nerves spent in the first contest 😥. The rules are often unclear. It is not clear what to follow when handling controversial issues. It becomes clear only at the moment of rejection of the template. And it’s good if the moderator writes a detailed explanation. Sometimes they just accept the issue without explanation (the moderator understands why, he is brewed in the admin chat, but the creator of the template is far from always). And the biggest problem is that no one except us (those who participate in this particular domain) knows about such a difficulty, but reading the IV chat shows that many people have the same questions. It would be nice if somewhere there was a general log for such moments. For example, the moderator notes that the error occurred on the "related" tag and then a link appears in the documentation for the "related" - a list of issues due to which the templates were rejected and a list of issues that were deemed not critical. For example, the most common problem is to make a template or not for pages like "About", "Contacts". In the last contest, some moderators said that this was optional, others rejected the templates if the author did not do this (because the reporter was do it).

Or, for example, another option: if the moderator sees that the moment is really not specified in the documentation - without rejecting the template gives time (5, 12, 24 hours) to fix it. In parallel, updating the Checklist clarification.

Sorry for such a long message 🙂 and thanks for reading to the end!
