Why Hasn't My BEP-20 Transfer Appeared Yet?

A token transfer can succeed and still look missing: BEP-20 tokens often use 18 decimal places, and wallets may hide unfamiliar tokens. The transaction record tells you what happened on BNB Smart Chain; the token contract and recipient address tell you what arrived. Check those before trying the transfer again.
Start with the transaction record
Find the transaction hash, a unique code for the transfer, in MetaMask’s activity or your wallet’s transaction history. Open it in a BNB Chain block explorer, a public site that reads the chain’s records. A successful status means the transaction ran, but you still need to confirm its details.
Check that the recipient address matches your wallet, character for character. Then check the token contract address, the identifier for the specific token. A familiar token name or symbol is not proof: different tokens can use the same name, and a successful transfer to the wrong address usually cannot be reversed.
Look for a token transfer event showing the sender, recipient, and amount. That event is the chain’s record of the token movement. A wallet tracker such as the PooCoin can provide a second view of token holdings for an address; compare it with the transaction record, not just the displayed name.
Check the amount and token display
The recorded amount may look much larger or smaller than the wallet display because token amounts use decimal places. For example, if a token uses 18 decimals, a recorded amount of 2,500,000,000,000,000,000 units represents 2.5 tokens. Divide the raw amount by 10 to the power of the token’s decimals to get the displayed amount.
The number of decimals is set by the token contract, and it can differ between tokens. If the record shows the right recipient and contract but your wallet balance has not changed, check whether the wallet is displaying that exact contract. A wallet may not show every token automatically, even when the chain records a balance.
Choose the next step from what you find
If the transaction failed, the token transfer did not complete; check the failure message before sending again. If it succeeded but names a different recipient or contract, the transfer went somewhere else. If the recipient and contract are right, the chain has recorded the transfer, so check the wallet’s token display.
For example, a successful transfer of 2.5 tokens to your address can be absent from MetaMask’s token list while still appearing in the transaction record. Confirm the contract address from a trusted source before adding or interacting with a token. PooCoin’s wallet view can help you compare the address’s holdings, but the transaction’s recipient and contract remain the key checks.
Before you finish, check:
- The transaction status is successful.
- The recipient matches your wallet address.
- The token contract and decimal-adjusted amount are expected.
