It is able to remove lots of dirt from bare floors and does a good job of maneuvering itself, but it doesn't come as close to achieving the same performance as the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of performance on carpeted floors. The i7 also feels more sturdy, is more durable and requires less maintenance. It also has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has comparable battery performance. It also has more advanced automation features, such as no-go zones and the ability to select specific rooms to be cleaned.

It has excellent navigational skills and two cliff sensors that keep it from falling down the stairs or getting caught on furniture legs.
The J7+ has a few minor flaws, for instance, it can get caught on rugs or cords and it doesn't always turn off the mopping function once it is done vacuuming. In all other respects, it's an excellent model that ticks all the right boxes.
