When you know she's the one. You just know, there doesn't have to be a particular reason. I don't need a reason to love Athena, My heart chooses her before my mind even gets a say. It's something that i can't even control, it takes over me just like that. When i least expect it, it hits me right in the heart. I feel alive, i feel better and nobody will ever understand why i love her, because it's something that was never meant to be understood by strangers, only understood by the two hearts that are together. And if i'm being honest? I don't think i realize i love someone until i do. I think that is what makes it so beautiful. There is no loud, screeching halt inside of my heart, no neon sign that suddenly lights up and let me know that i have found my favourite thing. No. I don't think it works like that. I think it's quieter, calmer. One day i just sitting across from someone, and i watching Athena tell some story i've heard twenty times about her ice cream breakfast, and everything inside of me feels safe. Everything is serene, and peaceful, and i almost laugh to myself, because in the midst of all of that chaos, i realize just how deeply i care about Athena. In the midst of the crowd, or the background noise, or the chatter of other people in the restaraunt, time slows down for a moment, and there it is. There it is. Because, Athena didn't have to do anything to make me fall for her. I didn't fall for her because of what he could or couldn't do for me. I fell for her simply because she were unapologetically herself. I fell for her beautiful soul and big heart. I love she for everything that she is and everything that she is not. She is so perfectly flawed, but also perfectly her. And because I love her.
