It’s been three (!) years since we last updated this list. While it isn’t the norm to dip one’s toes in the adult industry’s waters by first camming before going to shoot on set, it certainly isn’t an uncommon trajectory for a performer’s nudie career. The line has become blurred between porn star, cam performer, and clip artist . Many performers balance out their work weeks between some combination of the three—and that’s not even factoring in premium social media platforms like OnlyFans.
If anything, COVID has pushed things more into the realm of cam performance and diversification. When studios shut down production and it wasn’t safe to shoot with people outside the home, porn stars had to figure out ways to make ends meet. There’s a great little roundup article that discusses how to make money when the filming grinds to a halt. And in it, camming was definitely a top consideration. So the bridge between porn star and cammer has begun going in both directions at an even more frequent pace… and some have found a surprising home in the cam world as a result, such as Lita Lecherous —who became award-nominated in the process.
So all that being said, we are going to revisit this list more often in the future. We will bring to you more and more amazing porn stars that began their journey with a webcam.
