In September 1949, Barthélemy Boganda founded the Pan-African Movement for the Social Evolution of Black Africa (MESAN), which fought for justice, human dignity and social progress. The party's principle, "Zo kwe zo" ("Man is equal to man"), has become the moral code of several generations of Central Africans.

In 1956, he became the first mayor of Bangui.

On June 17, 1957, he was elected Chairman of the Grand Council of French Equatorial Africa (AEF), and was re–elected on March 25, 1958.

April 1951, Barthelemy Boganda - Vice-president of the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism.

December 8, 1958 - March 29, 1959 – 1st Prime Minister of the autonomous Central African Republic within the French Community.

Undoubtedly, he was a great man, the name of the country - the Central African Republic, the anthem, the motto and the flag – all this is his work!
