Another Game of Thrones episode has come and gone and Cersei Lannister lives on. The ruthless Queen of the Seven Kingdom’s stopped at nothing to regain power in King’s Landing and is slowly
setting the stage so she can defend herself against a long line of enemies.

We already saw the ball get rolling when Euron Greyjoy stormed Yara and Theon’s ship and something tells us Cersei’s line of defense will only get stronger from here. We were also clued in on a
spear catapult that seems to have plenty of ability in the fight against Daenerys Targaryen’s trio of dragons.

As formidable as Cersei Lannister still appears to be, she still has her work cut out for her to remain on the Iron Throne once season 7 of GOT draws to a close in five more episodes. The first
question we obviously need to ask ourselves is if she’ll maintain her powerful position by season’s end.

Top entertainment betting site Bovada has been updating odds for the Iron Throne since before the season even started.

Cersei, largely since she’s at that post currently, has understandably been the heavy favorite. It’s really starting to look like she is growing closer and closer to a collision with the other
powers in this show, however, and that within the next few episodes a changing of the guard could be coming.

After all, Game of Thrones has bigger fish to fry (The Night Walkers) than just figuring out who will rule the 7 Kingdoms. Odds are they sort that out before season 7 is up, which probably points
us to a new ruler on the Iron Throne. Who, you ask? Well, the trajectory of GOT to this point suggests Daenerys Targaryen as the most likely option. She’s followed up by Jon Snow, but a sleeper
could be Sansa Stark, who currently is being left to rule as Queen of the North in Jon Snow’s stead (he’s headed to Dragonstone).

It’s not crazy to think Snow joins up with Khaleesi and her army but one thing leads to another and it’s actually Sansa who takes over the Iron Throne. We still favor Daenerys, but who knows what
will happen.

While Cersei is still the odds on favorite, her grip up top is loosening. Naturally, she’s bound to be removed in some fashion and that likely could lead to her death.

Obviously, Cersei isn’t for sure getting killed, as GOT throws a lot of curveballs and we just can’t know what’s going to happen until it does. However, logic suggests the only way
someone else is ruling her kingdom is, well, over her dead body.

There are three obvious outs here and Bovada has some interesting odds as to who could help her meet the Lord of Light:

So far in season 7 Game of Thrones has set forth at a methodical pace, but pretty much everything that has gone down was pretty predictable. That hasn’t been a bad thing, but it’s worth wondering
if/when the show is going to really punch us all in the gut with a shocking move we would never have seen coming.

Maybe it’s Jon Snow dying for real this time, Daenerys being taken out well before she can take back her crown, or another big character gets killed off. Any of that could happen, but one fun
move could be killing Queen Cersei off quicker than many expect and in a way, we don’t expect.

Jaime Lannister killing Cersei does make sense. He’s starting to realize she has lost it and with nothing to lose, the woman he loves is officially off the rails. She always was, but this is
obviously as bad as it’s ever been. Vegas thinks that could be enough for her brother/lover to eventually be forced to put her down, and maybe that’s exactly what happens.

I think that is what the GOT showrunners want us to think, though. Tyrion Lannister is also a fun bet just because of the ongoing hateful feud between the siblings, but how would that come about?
Tyrion is at the side of Daenerys and is a political mind, not a warrior. If their army storms King’s Landing, it’s likely someone or something else will take Cersei out.

There are a ton of options here, which is why the true value lies with the third bet at +125. We don’t get staggering upside here, but consider the possibilities; it would be shocking to see The
Mountain or Euron Greyjoy turn on Cersei, while Arya Stark is specifically heading to King’s Landing in hopes to do the deed. Sansa Stark, Jon Snow and so many others have every reason in the
world to take her out, too, while the dragons Cersei is plotting to take out with spears could also still end up being the reason for her demise.

Jaime Lannister makes sense and both he and Tyrion would be fun for Game of Thrones fans, but the value lies with the many outs.

If you needed to explain Game of Thrones in one character, Cersei Lannister is probably the one.
A brief rundown of her CV in the screened series so far makes you wonder how she is still alive. Sexual relations with her twin brother Jaime, by whom she has three children, as well as one by Robert Baratheon. All of her children are dead.
She’s got another brother, Tyrion whom she detests because she believes he killed their mother in childbirth. Cersei abused the dwarf as a child and continued to torment him throughout his life.
A dab hand at blackmail, she is also easily hoodwinked as the High Sparrow and Margaery showed, leading to her naked Walk of Atonement through the streets of King’s Landing.
Jon Snow isn’t the only character brought back to life: Cersei manages that with Ser Gregor Clegane before she takes revenge on all who forced her humiliation.
Euron Greyjoy’s proposal is spurned then deferred before Cersei agrees to join the fight against the Night King. However, after deciding to betray them all and let her peers and enemies slaughter each other before she assumes power over all realms, Cersei makes the mistake of telling Jaime her plan. He decides that even though she is pregnant with their fourth child, he wants no part of it and pops off to fight the good fight.
At the last count, her enemies could fill a phone book whilst her allies can meet in a phone box and still have plenty of space.
So, who will kill Cersei, assuming she is killed, of course?
One of three predictions on Cersei’s future from the witch Maggy the Frog was that her little brother would end her life. And let’s face it, Tyrion has more reason than most to want her dead.
His relationship with Jaime is a saving grace on more than one occasion for the halfling as Cersei’s dastardly schemes seemed to signal the end for Tyrion.
Tyrion is a capable manipulator and with Daenerys also wanting Cersei out of the way, their mutual aims coincide. He’s may not pull the trigger so to speak but is certainly willing and able to get others to do his dirty work.
Odds of Tyrion Lannister killing Cersei Lannister: 7/1
Brother, Lover, Murderer? Given his displeasure at his twin sister’s plans to attack the last man standing once the Night King is defeated, Jaime is a prime candidate to kill the mother of his three children.
However, will it be Cersei he kills, or a reanimated Cersei after the Night King destroys King’s Landing with Ice Viserion? It leaves Jaime with no choice but to kill her before going on to be a pivotal character in mankind’s ultimate victory.
That’s one plausible theory doing the rounds and who am I to disagree with it?

There’s no love lost between the youngest Stark and Cersei so plotting her downfall will be no issue for Arya. And Arya fulfils the prophecy of a young sibling killing Cersei
A highly-trained assassin, she has the skill set to end the troubled queen’s reign of terror over her subjects. You only have to look at the way she despatched Littlefinger at the end of Season Seven while her ability to steal faces could get her close enough to Cersei before anyone realises what is happening.

With so many people rising from the dead, it’s almost surprising the show doesn’t use the Stone Roses I am the Resurrection as a theme tune.
The Mountain came back to life and the most hotly anticipated fight is his match-up with his younger brother, the Hound. Will being forced to take on his sibling in a death match bring out a sense of vengeance on his ‘mistress’?
