Who Is Best Robot Vacuum That Mops And Why You Should Be Concerned
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers can be ideal for those looking to get rid of mopping off their list of tasks. Some have great mapping and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.
It's quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one sweep. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help draw out debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into narrow corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and books.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever used. It doesn't make the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It is easy to set up and works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely for mopping, you will need to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device has an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach an array of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that extends to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads are able to be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-andforth or more random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
This device is expensive however it has many useful features. It's important to note that it incurs periodic costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. This includes the power button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want an organized home that doesn't require a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two parts, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with an elastomer pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate map of your floorplan that it uses to draw the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting hair of pets. It was able to capture some of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even got into some of the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots had struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to let you know that it was beginning and finishing its work.
Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the requirement to swap between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base comes with a few control buttons, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognising objects.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert in its application.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.
robot vacuum reviews looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxes.
