"Who Is Appointed by Russian Parties? Key Insights from the Market Survey" at RIAC 2025
Russian Women in Arbitration | russianwomeninarbitration.ruRWA, together with Ivanyan and Partners, successfully held an open event “Who Is Appointed by Russian Parties? Key Insights from the Market Survey” under the auspices of RIAC 2025.

The event took place on 16 May 2025 in the aristocratic setting of the House of the Muravyov-Apostols, built in the late 18th century. The ballroom of the House hosted many festive receptions throughout its history. On this occasion, it became the venue for the presentation of the preliminary results of the RWA survey on the appointment of arbitrators in disputes related to Russia.
The speakers at the event were Anna Avdulova (Senior Associate at Ivanyan and Partners), Margarita Drobyshevskaia (Deputy Counsel at Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC)) and Polina Tulina (Senior Associate at ALUMNI Partners). The speakers discussed the sources of information relied on by the survey respondents when appointing arbitrators, as well as the personal qualities of arbitrators that the parties took into account most often.

The participants of the event actively shared their experiences in appointing arbitrators and engaged in a fascinating discussion. One of the hottest topics of the discussion was the appointment of young professionals as arbitrators.

After the discussion, the participants were invited on a guided tour around the House, focusing on the history and household of the noble Muravyov-Apostols family, whose members participated in the Decembrist revolt. The participants shared their impressions of the event during a champagne reception.
We are grateful to everyone who supported our event and hope you had a great time. We look forward to seeing you again!
