Whisker Fixers — Privacy Policy

Whisker Fixers ("the App") is a cat care management tool designed for fosters and transporters in cat rescue organizations. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address, a display name you choose, and a password (stored securely and encrypted). Within the app, you may enter information about cats in your care, including names, medical records, weight entries, vaccination dates, photos, and documents. This data is stored in your private account and is not shared with other users.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to provide the app's features: managing cat profiles, scheduling events, tracking weight, storing documents and photos, and sending push notification reminders. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform with encryption at rest and in transit. Photos and documents are stored in secure cloud storage buckets. Each user's data is isolated and protected by row-level security policies, meaning only you can access your own data.

Push Notifications

The app may send push notifications to remind you of scheduled events such as medication doses, vet appointments, and feeding times. You can manage notification preferences within the app's settings or through your device's notification settings.

Camera and Photo Library

The app requests access to your camera and photo library only to allow you to upload photos of cats and documents. These photos are stored in your private account and are not accessed or used for any other purpose.

Third-Party Services

The app uses Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) and Expo (build and push notification delivery). These services have their own privacy policies and handle data in accordance with industry-standard security practices.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete individual cat profiles, photos, and documents at any time within the app. If you wish to delete your entire account and all associated data, please contact us at ejsimms05@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
