The XII congress of the "post-Plahotniuc" European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) was held in Chisinau, at which Vasile Bumakov was elected chairman of the formation.

Bumakov was the Minister of Agriculture under Plahotniuc.

The PSDE is a former Democratic Party that quickly organized a rebranding after the Plahotniuc affair.
