Where was Mr. Alex?

Alex

First off, hello! It feels like it has been a while since I posted something like this. I have missed talking to you, the subscribers of @AlexNativeIELTS, and I hope you have equally missed reading and listening to me 😊

First off, sorry to all who were expecting posts or useful materials to use before your IELTS tests. I hope you were able to find the materials you needed to prepare for IELTS!

This has been an important period for me - I have been working this month, and I have had the chance to rejuvenate my telegram-posting energy during this time. I have never been the kind of person to be able to do the same work for years at a time. We all need a break sometimes, and this January has been my time to re-think the purpose of this channel.

In January, I also started my offline job at Polyglot language center in Samarkand, and this has been a very good decision. I have been doing a lot of interesting stuff, making a lot of content behind the scenes, and working a lot on myself as a teacher. Additionally, two amazing new games came out in January/February – Tekken 8 and Palworld. If you’re a fan of gaming, you MUST give these two a try.

Now, one of the biggest reasons why I felt like I shouldn’t post anything, and why I am now back, has to do with a very popular part of IELTS Telegram channels – Courses. I don’t want to get into unnecessary details, but basically: how do I know that the courses that I make, the materials that I share, the things that I teach – how do I know that they are helping anyone? How do I know that I am leaving a positive impact on people, or any kind of impact at all?

I have come to the conclusion that it is not possible for me to know for sure, because I will never be able to know exactly what each subscriber of this channel is doing with my materials, and whether it’s optimally helpful for them. Instead, I realized that the thing I should focus on is what I myself want to create, and then go from there.

Going forward, I hope to make things for myself, and I hope me and you will both see the value in this.

See you very soon!
