WhatsApp “End-to-End Encryption” Is a Massive Consumer Scam
Despite claiming default end-to-end encryption, ~95% of WhatsApp personal messages end up in unencrypted backups on Apple/Google servers — backups that few users actually encrypt with strong passwords.
Even if you secure your backups, messages still appear unencrypted in others’ backups. WhatsApp also logs who you talk to — a privacy nightmare.
Meanwhile, Telegram has never disclosed a single byte of user messages in its 12-year history.
