What words cannot be registered as a trademark?

According to Article 10 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On trademarks, service marks and names of place of origin of goods”

▪️signs depicting state emblems, flags and state awards;

▪️signs that do not have distinctive features (lines, simple geometric shapes);

▪️signs of general use as designations for certain types of goods (thermos, kettle, jug, basket);

▪️signs that are considered universally recognized symbols and terms (optics, beauty salon, kitchen, cafe, recreation area);

▪️symbols used to describe goods, including their kind, quality, quantity, nature, purpose and value, as well as the place and time of their manufacture or transfer (Made in China, sweet biscuit, 100% cotton, cheap, excellent technique) are not may be registered as a trademark.
