The arrival of your little one is a time of joy and excitement. This time can also be stressful and hectic, especially for a newly expecting mom. You may be confused about what things you should pack in your hospital bag at this critical time. To ease your anxiety, here are a few guidelines of preparing the hospital bag recommended by gynecologists in New Delhi. It lists all the necessary things that you need to get prepared for the grand event. 

What Is the Right Time to Pack the Hospital Bag?

Ideally, it would help to prepare your hospital bags 36 - 37 weeks before the due date. For Yourself

For a C-Section delivery

  • Underwear that doesn’t press the c-section incision. It should be soft, cotton-based, and high-waisted underwear.
  • Comfortable clothing such as a flowy dress and a loose-fitting high-waisted pant
  • Compression belt to lessen swelling and assist your back muscles
  • Stool softener to prevent constipation

For the Baby

Once you have packed a hospital bag for yourself, you can now start packing for the baby.

  • A car seat
  • An outfit for your baby including baby socks and baby hat
  • Baby’s medical records.
  • Bottles to feed the baby

As the hospital provides wipes and diapers, you don’t need to carry them to the hospital.
