What the process actually feels like, end to end

BetterPic

Shorter and less controllable than expected, and with one step that everybody skips.

The sequence

Upload, wait, choose. That is it. The waiting is unremarkable and the uploading takes ten minutes.

The step that decides the result

Choosing. Most of the quality difference between one person's outcome and another's lands here, because a poor selection ruins a good batch of headshots.

Budget an hour. Everyone treats it as an afterthought and it affects the result more than the choice of vendor does.

The step before that decides even more

What you upload. Photographs from different days, in different clothes, in different light. Fifteen from one afternoon in one shirt teach the system that the shirt is part of your face.

What to expect from the output

A distribution, not a single answer. One good portrait out of forty is luck; forty usable out of forty is a product, and the difference only shows if you generate more than you need and count.
