What should applicants know before choosing a new degree programme?

Before applying to a new degree programme, applicants should ask one important question: Does the programme meet the required quality standards?

This is the purpose of special state accreditation. Every newly established programme — including programmes that do not yet have graduates — undergoes a separate quality assessment before the educational process begins.

Students cannot be admitted to an educational programme that has not successfully passed special state accreditation.

Results for the first half of 2026

➖ 474 educational programmes from 86 higher education institutions were submitted for special state accreditation;

➖ 204 programmes successfully passed the accreditation process;

➖ 14 programmes did not meet the established requirements and therefore were not accredited;

➖ 256 programmes are currently under review.

Each educational programme is assessed by two experts — one national and one international expert.
