What is a Peshtemal Towel?
A Peshtemal is a Turkish word for hammam towel. The Pestemal / hammam towel is a flat woven thin cotton towel. The hammam towel is originally from Turkey. The plague mold, also called a hammam towel, is used to go to the bathhouse "de Hamam." It is also used in other countries with a Hamam culture.

Wash hammam towel

Before washing for the first time, we recommend that you let the hammam towels rest in cold water for a day. This is good for the fibers and ensures that your hammam towel shrinks minimally. Wash with not too much detergent and without fabric softener. The use of fabric softener reduces moisture absorption. An alternative to fabric softener is vinegar, just the one you use for the salad. Put a small splash of natural vinegar in the fabric softener compartment. This makes the water softer and removes the last lime and soap residue. Good for your washing machine too, and no, you won't smell anything anymore. To avoid problems such as zippers and buttons on your other laundry, we recommend that you continue to wash the hammam towels separately.
To dry
Let the hammam towels dry naturally. Since hammam towels are relatively thin, they dry quickly. Drying in the tumble dryer can damage the cotton. This also applies to ironing, and we recommend not to do this.
Drawn wire
All hammam towels are woven. A drawn thread can be corrected by trying two things. First, you pull the hammam towel straight into the border close to the drawn wire. This way, you will make sure that the excess loop is back where it belongs. If there is still a single loose thread that needs your attention, cut it gently with scissors.
Fringes
The fringes are hand-knotted, so a knot can always come loose. You can easily tie these again yourself and put them on carefully.
