What is a Cabinet Cooler?

Our electrical cabinet panel coolers are a simple, reliable and inexpensive method to cool and climatize all types of electrical panels and enclosures. Supreme Air Electrical Panel Cooler uses compressed air to create hot and cold air streams. The coolers require only compressed air to work, so there is no need for harmful refrigerants and freon gas. They offer the ideal solution to cooling many types of enclosures and electrical cabinets with large cooling capacities up to 7200 BTUs.

How does a Cabinet Cooler work?

Through a standard knockout hole, the cooler is mounted vertically to the top of a cabinet. A locking ring provided with the cooler locks it into place.

The compressor air line connects to the cooler via a 1/4 NPT fitting.

The integrated vortex tube separates compressed air as it enters the cooler.

The vortex tube's hot steam is emitted into the atmosphere through a muffler, which produces low levels of noise.

Through an outlet tube at the bottom, cold air is drawn into the cabinet.

As the cold stream enters the electrical cabinet, the hot air within the cabinet starts to rise and is gradually purged through the cooler.

An optional cold air distribution kit is also available. This connects to the cooler’s outlet tube and allows users to direct the cold stream to hot spots in the cabinet. Supreme Air Products' electrical panel coolers have been made of stainless steel for durability.

Cabinet Cooler Specifications

Mounting:

Supreme Air Products(tm) Cabinet Cooler must be vertically mounted on a flat surface for all enclosure types. A 1-1/8" diameter hole or electrical knockout can be used to mount an electrical cabinet cooler unit. The locking ring holds it in place. For those coolers that cannot be mounted on top of cabinets due to height restrictions, we offer side mount kits.

Humidity:

It is crucial to seal off all openings and vents that could allow in ambient air, particularly in hot or humid environments. The relative humidity inside the enclosure stabilizes at 45% for all continuously operating Cabinet Coolers

Filtration:

All lines that supply power to the Cabinet Cooler should be run through clean, filtered air. A 5 micron auto drain filter is recommended. To prevent accidental water from entering the enclosure, it is important to filter properly. If oil is present in the compressed air supply, use an oil filter with a minimum 0.3 micron rating.

Environmental Considerations

NEMA 4/4X (IP56) - Designed for Electrical Control Panels - Splash resistant, oil-tight, and dust-proof for use in wash down environments as well as outdoor use. Coolers are constructed of Stainless Steel (Type 304) for longevity in wet environments.

NEMA 12 (IP52) - Cabinet Coolers (oil-tight, dust-proof) are used in industrial environments where no liquids can come into contact with the unit. To withstand extreme corrosive environments, coolers are made of Type 304 Stainless Steel.
