Vaping entered the life of a modern person as rapidly as most other conventionally "fashionable" trends. However, in the case of electronic cigarettes, things are much more complicated and, if you like, more important from the point of view of public interest. Moreover, this subculture has both pluses and minuses. There are, of course, more of the first ones, but they are gradually drowning in mountains of negativity, which pours out towards soaring from numerous media, TV channels, publications and even from all sorts of experts who have chosen for themselves a "long dollar" from large tobacco corporations, instead of being guided elementary logic.

Despite numerous living examples of people rejecting regular cigarettes using vape products, there are still many questions about where vaping came from and whether e-cigarette vapor is harmful. So what is hidden under this resounding term vaping, what is it, the harm and benefits of vaping, what is vaping or smoking vapes? I must say that the task will not be easy, and it's all about the details.

How does it affect the body

But where discussions have really started to arise recently, is the question of how vaping affects the body of the bather. Numerous experts, every now and then, give a lot of arguments about how harmful and useful e-cigarettes can be. And lobbyists of tobacco companies are trying to call these devices even more harmful and dangerous than cigarettes. In reality, this is not entirely true. It is important to recognize here that it is impossible to call a vape completely harmless, however, if you delve into the specifics of how a vape works, what it is, and how it actually affects the human body, it becomes obvious that an electronic cigarette is at least a reasonable choice with any point of view.

It is also important to note the fact that until now there is not a single detailed, deep and long-term scientific research on this topic, there are only some short reports of groups of scientists from different countries who have treated the problem in a superficial way. However, since today there is more and more controversy about the benefits and harms of vaping, we will cite one of the most recent more or less large-scale scientific works on this topic. 

Vaping

We are talking about a study conducted in 2018 by specialists from such an authoritative and reputable organization as the US Tobacco Research Center. Having studied in detail the chemical composition of liquids for vaping, details of the vaporization process, possible risks for vapers, and dozens of other side factors, American researchers came to the following conclusions:

  • in general, despite the fact that the popularization of electronic cigarettes among young people can in rare cases provoke a transition to conventional cigarettes, the more obvious effect is just the rejection of harmful cigarettes with combustible tobacco using a vape;
  • Despite the ambiguity of the data obtained from different sources, statistics on the use of vapes in recent years indicate that these devices really contribute to the gradual cessation of more harmful smoking and this statistics is growing;
  • smokers who have completely abandoned combustible tobacco and switched to using a vape expose their body to much less exposure to harmful and dangerous toxins, carcinogens and other things;
  • despite the fact that electronic cigarettes cannot be called harmless, they contain significantly less toxins and other harmful substances;
  • the advantages of delivering nicotine with steam over smoking burned tobacco are undeniable;
  • at the same time, the vapor from an electronic cigarette is still not completely safe and contains toxic substances and a certain amount of carcinogens, the concentration of which depends on many factors, including the peculiarities of using vapes;
  • in general, vapes are becoming an effective alternative for smokers who cannot quit a bad habit on their own, and also contributes to a significant reduction in the harmful effects on the human body.

As you can see, the general picture is simple, clear, and extremely clear: vape is an excellent, less harmful, safer alternative to smoking cigarettes. Moreover, with its help, you can really do something that many have not been able to do for years - finally quit smoking. And we are not yet talking about secondhand smoke and the general negative effect of cigarettes on others.
