What is Thermal? Thermal throttling means? Gud or Bad 🤔

Ok so most of the time, users say "Thermal mods" or "Thermal Throttling" and According to me, still most of the users don't understand it completely What they mean by these terms 🙁 So, Let us understand the concept 🙂

✓ Thermal mods

So basically u might have seen, when u play PUBG, Call of Duty, Fortnite, etc etc games which requires heavy CPU usage and resource, that type of apps or games starts lagging a lot when our smartphone temperature rises or in simple terms, such games lags when the device's back side becomes hot 😣 And, this thing is very frustating for gamers because they hate lags 🥺 when they're in the last circle and because of heavy lag , someone else takes their chicken dinner 😐 So, What thermal mod is, What they do, how they works? Let us understand that..

° Thermal mods basically 🤔 no wait, first of all.. A simple fact : Android limits the framerates or fps to a certain limit when the Device becomes hot and the temperature rises 🔥 in order to protect and to reduce the damage to system (hardware and most priorly the battery). And, ya It's gud ✓ because if Android will not limit the framerates, then at heavy temp. the battery will start degrading (means, that the battery life will decrease and in some cases, it blasts too)

One myth I found and that is "Thermal throttling is bad for everyone🤦🏻‍♂️"

#Truth - Throttling and Thermal Throttling is two different things. Wait wait, lemme add one more thing and i.e CPU throttling 😶 Now, what the fish is this? so let us understand all the three things 👇🏻

1. Thermal Throttling

It means to adjust the system, when the temperature exceeds a safe limit in Android say for example 45° So when the temperature will rise above 45°c then Android will start thermal throttling. It means, now the Android will itself do whaterver needed to reduce the temperature below the safe limit. Say, It'll reduce the performance and will start blocking the use of some sensors and lowering the speed of cores etc ...

2. CPU Throttling

It means, when CPU automatically adjusts the speed of core's frequencies in order to save power (battery). Sometimes, we also says "Dynamic Frequency Scaling" and that is the same thing. 🙂 How it will save battery ? 🤔 Because now the cores will run at slower speed thus, the system don't have to work more and more at a faster speed. The response of the system will reduce. And, thus conserving the battery.

3. Throttling

It means to cause something to speed up or slow down. Is it Good or Bad ? 😳🧐 U might have noticed that After a certain battery percentage say 30% the performance of your Android reduces down. 😒 Means ?

Let us take an example - say what will be your experience while playing pubg on 90% and on playing on 10% 🙏🏻 U will notice lags ? U will feel a lil. bit heat ? ofcourse u will.. In Android after a certain percentage, the device itself starts throttling. That's the reason, as your battery starts draining after a certain percentage say 20% u feel damn fishy lags in games and sometimes even in apps too.

Now the Main Thing : What Thermal Mods do ?

Ans - In simple terms, It basically Gives u better performance even on HGH TEMPERATURE 🔥 by adjusting CPU Throttling and in some cases totally reducing the throttling of CPU. It means, when the temperature of your phone will increase, Android will try to throttle the CPU (it means, it will send a message to CPU to slow down the cores, to reduce the performance to save battery from damage, and to reduce down the temperature) so, Now, when we are using a Thermal mod, the Device will not send any message to the cpu to slow down the cores, and to bring down the performance. Which will result in better performance even in higher temperatures.

Advantages of Thermal Mods :

• Prevent aggressive early thermal throttling.
• Maintain a consistent performance for extended periods of time.
• Suitable for hardcore gaming.
• U might have seen, when u starts up ur camera, records a video for longer times, ur device starts heating and starts the recording the video at lower frame rates even if u have selected 60fps. So Thermal mods can handle that as well.

Disadvantages 😐 are their always :

• Don't use any type of Thermal Mod (If u don't play any games)

• Don't use such mods in Hot summers. If ur surrounding temperature is more than 35 or say 40°c Then AVOID USING SUCH MODS 👍🏻 As if anything wrong happen then no Dev. will be responsible.

• Avoid using Thermal mods for longer times. Suppose u are continusouly playing pubg with any thermal mod for more than 6 hours 😐 WARNING - It'll RIP ur device then..
