Search
There are two ways to get information about specific movies, TV shows and people.
You can simply send the name or title to Cinegram in private. The bot will then perform a multi-search, showing the best matching results on top.

The type of result is marked with emojis: π¬ = movie, πΊ = TV show, π€ = person
You can also use commands to specify what you're looking for. Send the appropiate command and then your query. For example: /movie Jaws.
- /movie Jaws: Search for films and documentaries.
- /tv Severance: Search TV shows, Netflix series, etc.
- /person Leonardo DiCaprio: Search actors, directors, etc.
- /collection James Bond: Search movie collections and franchises.

You can also use one of these commands in reply to a message.
Discover
Discover movies and TV shows that are trending or top rated, or browse by genre or decade.
Cinema
Get the newest and upcoming cinema program in your country.
- /theaters: Get movies currently or soon playing in theaters. Optionally, you can specify a country using its two-letter country code, e.g. /theaters CA.

Set up your region in the bot settings to always get the right data for your country.
Streaming
See what's currently available for streaming on your favorite on demand watch providers: movies, TV shows and documentaries. Cinegram supports almost all streaming services of 35+ countries. For a list of all providers and their ID's, click here.

To use this feature, you must set up your region in the bot settings, to get the availability per provider.
Also, for each movie and TV show, The Movie Bot can tell you where it's available for streaming on your favorite on demand watch providers, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ etc. It's the only paid feature of the bot at just the price of a coffee β€οΈ

Combined rating
The Movie Bot features a unique combined score indicator (e.g. "β β β ββ β’ 69") that tells you straight away if a movie or TV show is good or not, based on the average rating of renowned movie websites. A short explanation of all four:
- Internet Movie DataBase (IMDB): The most popular online movie community. The IMDB rating is a very dependable depiction of what the audiences think about a movie/TV show, and is generally in the range of 5-9 (out of 10).
- The Movie Database (TMDb): A community-driven database. Similar to IMDB, the TMDb rating is an audience score and is therefore often in the same range (50-90 out of 100). For some movies, the TMDb score may be exaggerated (up or down), since it is calculated from less votes than IMDB.
- Rotten Tomatoes: A famous website with many critic reviews. The RT aggregate score depicts the percentage of critics that is generally positive about the movie/TV show, and it can therefore differ very much from the other ratings (ranging from 5-100%), but it gives an interesting insight into the critics opinion. The website also features an audience average percentage.
- Metacritic: Collects critic reviews like Rotten Tomatoes, but calculates a standard score out of 100. Metacritic is often very critical, and doesn't mind rating an entertaining but simple movie below 50, whereas a score above 80 is reserved only for the best classics, many of the latter even scoring 90+.
TMDb account
Connect your TMDb account to sync your watchlist and favorites, and to rate movies and TV shows without ever leaving Telegram! The Movie Bot does not have access to your account credentials.
- /login: Sync the bot with your TMDb account
After connecting, go to the My TMDb menu to view your account details. When searching movies and TV shows, you will notice new buttons below the message with movie/TV details, to directly rate it, or add the item to your watchlist or favorites.
π = rate, π = add to watchlist, β€οΈ = add to favorites
