Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more efficient, passing our tests of cleaning and tackling a variety of floor types. Select models that allow users to select between different modes, self-empty and clean stairs.
Many of the best models are compatible with smartphones. Find an application that lets you save maps, schedules, and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos on the market. It uses lidar to navigate and create maps of floors and rooms (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean app that lets you set schedules and alter the behavior of the S1.
When I tried the S1 It was quick to locate our downstairs, which has linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, plus carpeting of medium-pile as well as a large area rug. It was able to drive right up to walls without colliding with them, and even managed to drive across thresholds that were raised in the room without issue, though it occasionally was unable to navigate down stairs in a single move. The S1 performed well in cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and lifted itself when it was near carpets or rugs.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station of the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and fills up its water tank onboard with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1 water tank is able to hold up to 12 cleaning sessions, but it will differ based on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires periodic maintenance to keep it working efficiently. For this, you'll need to clean the water tank that is dirty regularly to prevent it from clogging. Also, you'll need to clean your sensors and swivel wheel regularly to avoid them getting blocked by dust or dirt. However, overall the S1 is easy to maintain, especially compared to other combinations which require more effort to maintain.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs All-in-one robotic vacuum and mop is an efficient solution to your cleaning needs. Its robot vacuum boasts 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with many innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning to avoid obstacles and cleans around furniture. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it, rather than just dragging a pad across the surface. The mops are also cleaned and dried at the base station, as required.
This robot has an easy-to-use interface that guides you throughout the process. It comes with a rechargeable hand vacuum for those hard-to-reach areas that the robot isn't able to reach and two water tanks that are automatically empty and replenished when needed. It also comes with a variety of settings that can be used to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a great vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful suction that can easily pick up dust and debris that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, although it can be stuck on small area mats and rugs in my home (which you can alleviate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). Mopping capabilities are very good with a pair of spinning mop heads that are able to lift and scrub floors instead of moving the pad across it. The mops can be cleaned using heated water and dried in the basestation as required. The mops are also replenished at the top of the station as needed.

3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame launched the high-end X30 Ultra earlier this year however their latest top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop has even more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-off maintenance making it a top contender for our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition, and an extended side brush will give you a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra vacuums well, it can remove both large and fine debris. It is a great choice on carpets and hard floors. robot vacuum cleaners uk Robot Vacuum Mops cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently while avoiding pet hairs and other dirt. The sweeping power is enhanced by an additional side brush that automatically moves out to tackle difficult-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that is placed along baseboards.
Its navigation is smart it can navigate tight spaces and climbing the stairs without a hitch. It can move from one area to another without reversing direction which is a great feature for larger homes with several rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than that of some competitors and leaves a large margin between obstacles. This can lead to missed spots.
Its app has a streamlined, intuitive interface that should be user-friendly for both new and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and manage cleaning tasks. You can also adjust suction power, mop setting and view 2D and 3-D maps. It can be controlled via the app, Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri which allows you to monitor its progress from anywhere. You can even use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely for real-time video monitoring. You'll require a reliable WiFi connection to run the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
A robot vacuum does an excellent job of removing debris and dirt but it's not always able to get every last bit of dust. It's essential to clean your home often, at least once a week. This is especially true for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves, and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that vacuums as well as mops, is designed to do exactly that. It's easy to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and works with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more useful addition to your daily cleaning routine.
The Q5 is an edgier version of the company's pricier S-series models, including the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It has the same LIDAR mapping sensors, however it is cheaper because it doesn't have mopping capabilities, and also has plastic body.
Even though it's not able to mop floors, the Q5 offers the best vacuum and mopping performance we've seen from a robot in this price range. It has a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an automatic-empty system that means you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It has a smart app that lets you schedule cleaning and determine the floor type. It also has an automatic water tank filling system and washing system to allow hands-free operation.
The mops also stand out, with a 2700Pa power to take on pet hair and dirt on carpets and hard floors. The Q5 is one of the few robots we tested that didn't show any trouble with high-pile carpets and area rugs, but it couldn't pick up cables or kitty litter, which is no surprise given that it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also features a unique mapping system that allows it to reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums are unable to. The device also collects dust in a larger bin that means you have empty it less frequently. It also has washable filters, which reduces the expenses associated with using the device. The robot can recognize carpets, and increase suction when needed. You can also mark areas you would like to keep out of the app.
