What Is Rapper Drake's Net Worth in 2013?

With over 5 million album sales, 12 Number One Singles, and several significant awards including a Grammy for "Best Rap Album of 2013," Drake musical success has allowed himself to amass great wealth at a young age. Drake has a current estimated net worth $30 million. Drake has earned most of his income from album sales and touring. His "Club Paradise Tour" was the most successful Hip-Hop tour of 2012, netting $42 million last year with a reported gross of $500,000 per night Drake Age.

Although Drake used to be known for his acting role as Jimmy Brooks on the hit Canadian TV Show "Degrassi: The Next Generation," he caught the attention of top Hip-Hop artists like Lil' Wayne, Kanye West & Jay-Z (whom Drake stated are his biggest influences). Drake achieved success before he was signed to a major label, however, when he released the "Best I Ever Had" track (produced by Kanye West) that entered the top ten position at number 3, along with the Young Money track "Every Girl" featuring Drake at number 10, simultaneously. Drake then went on to sign to Lil' Wayne's music label "Young Money" for $1 million, plus another $1 million cash as a signing bonus. This followed what Billboard calls "one of the biggest bidding wars ever."

While signed to Young Money records, Drake released two studio albums titled Thank Me Later (2010) & Take Care (2011). Thank Me Later was Drake's first studio album which was later certified Platinum, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200. The album featured the hit singles "Over" and "Find Your Love". Take Care was Drake's second studio album, and most successful album to date, which also debuted at the number one position on the Billboard 200. The album sold over 630,000 albums in its first week (despite it already being leaked on the internet). Take Care topped the charts and produced multiple hit singles such as "Headlines", "Take Care", "Make Me Proud", "Crew Love", and "The Motto" which is also credited for popularizing the widely used acronym YOLO (You Only Live Once).

Drake is currently working on his third studio album titled Nothing Was The Same which is set to release in Summer 2013. It is stated by Drake that the album will have a different style than that of Take Care. Drake has released two hugely successful singles from Nothing Was The Same titled "Started From The Bottom" and "5AM in Toronto" which both hint at a more aggressive Drake.
