What Is Fridge Freezer Samsung? And How To Utilize It
Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings
Samsung's Family Hub refrigerator combines the capacity of a 389-litre fridge with an 225-litre freezer. It's a big American-style fridge with high-quality temperature control and an impressive range of intelligent features.
You can customize it with removable panels that complement your collection of matte black Rick Owens clothing and tie-dye Crocs.
All-Round Cooling
In refrigerators equipped with All Round Cooling, separate cooling circuits can help keep your food fresher. In conventional fridges, one cooling evaporator cools both the freezer and refrigerator compartments. This means that the low-humidity air from your freezer is pumped into your fridge, and it can cause your food items to dry out. This can make them taste bland and unpleasant.
With All-Round Cooling, each shelf has multiple vents which circulate cool air. This ensures a constant temperature even if you open and shut the door of your fridge.
Optimal Fresh zone helps keep seafood and meats fresher up to two times longer than conventional refrigerators, without freezing. This feature is a game changer for anyone who enjoys cooking but isn't a fan of freezing frozen meat or fish.
All Round Cooling employs an aluminum cooling plate at the back of the fridge. It is there to keep the cold air and prevent it from escaping when you open the fridge door. It also reduces the need for power defrosting, saving you both time and money.
Samsung refrigerators come with one of the most effective Ice dispensers we've tested. The patented Twist Ice Maker dispensing large cubes is dispensed with an easy twist and can be stored beneath the fridge when not being used. This creates more space on the shelves, and allows you to easily locate your preferred drinks and snacks.
You can decide how your fridge and freezer open with Reversible Doors. This lets you easily integrate your fridge in the layout of your kitchen while keeping your fridge clean and tidy.
Samsung's Family Hub is the central control of your SmartThings-connected home. It uses a large touchscreen mounted on your refrigerator. fridge freezer samsung can display live video feeds from your smart doorbell, make orders for groceries based on an automated inventory, or suggest recipes that use what you have in stock.
The flex drawers that are located on the bottom of Samsung refrigerators are a clever storage solution that make it easier to store larger items such as canned drinks and trays of pizza. They can be flipped down when not in use, and then folded flat to take less space. This is an excellent feature for those who like to cook and bake but are limited in their refrigerator storage space.
FlexZone
The Samsung FlexZone side-by-side fridge freezer comes with a unique three-zone design that allows you to add an additional refrigerator compartment or a freezer drawer to your setup. This flexibility lets you personalize your fridge freezer to best suit your needs and storage requirements. The FlexZone module allows you to upgrade your fridge to a larger or smaller size by adding an extra FlexZone.

The fridge has an elegant design that is sure to complement any kitchen design. Its stainless-steel finish is durable and sleek. Additionally, it is coated with an anti-fingerprint to keep the exterior of the appliance looking fresh. The fridge also includes a convenient external water and ice dispensers for additional convenience.
This fridge has an FlexZone bottom-right compartment that can be converted from freezer to refrigerator. This allows you to keep things like bags of frozen vegetables, meat, or fish in the freezer. It did well in our tests, too, but the lack of a voice control or SmartThings integration on the 21.5-inch touchscreen felt like an unrealized opportunity.
The rest of the fridge is full of space for food storage, with two crisper trays and the middle FlexZone drawer, which can be customized. This drawer lets you choose between five different settings based upon the needs of your fridge freezer compartment. There are five different settings available: a freezer setting, a soft freeze setting for wine trays, or deli trays, for instance, a meat setting, a fish setting, and a beverage setting to store drinks, snacks, and frequently used items.
This Samsung FlexZone side by side refrigerator is ideal for families who wish to have a fridge and a freezer in one unit. It's not as spacious as top-quality French-door models but it does come with a number of useful features. This is a good choice for those with small spaces in their homes.
Samsung Fridge Freezers are also very energy efficient due to their digital inverter technology. This technology regulates the temperature inside the fridge so it doesn't fluctuate too much and keeps your food fresher for longer. Its energy efficiency has earned the ENERGY STAR Certification.
SmartThings
SmartThings isn't as popular a platform that Alexa and Google Assistant are however it does offer numerous smart devices that you can connect to. It's also built into Samsung smartphones TVs, tablets and tablets - and some refrigerators. samsung refrigerators could be enough for some especially if they own several Samsung products.
The SmartThings application is very refined and well-rounded It comes with a 'if you do x, then y' automation section that works surprisingly well. It is possible to set up things as alarms that go off when sensors detect a flooding, or turning on the light when your phone detects you're at home. It can also control your refrigerator when connected to a smart socket however, we've had mixed results with that.
You'll require a hub to make use of SmartThings, which isn't inexpensive. Samsung offers a range of different options, including the SmartThings Station that you can connect to an existing router and use it as an nightlight. There's also a cheaper SmartThings Hub Dongle that can support Z-Wave and Zigbee, with Thread support to be added soon.
Once you've connected your smart fridge to your smartphone and hub, it is extremely simple to use. The SmartThings app lets you manage your fridge from any location with notifications sent to your phone whenever it's opened or closed. You can create schedules, alter the temperature and even set reminders.
SmartThings was an early participant in the Home Connectivity Alliance. This alliance is working on making major home appliances from different manufacturers compatible. In the future you can control your Samsung washer/dryer, Electrolux oven, and LG TV using the same application.
Although it's not as widely accepted as Alexa and Google Assistant, SmartThings does have some major players on its list which include Arlo, Nest, Belkin and Lifx. It's also compatible with Matter, an open protocol that allows devices to connect regardless of brand. For most users however, combining Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls is most likely the best option.
Family Hub
A fridge freezer doesn't get much more modern than this: it comes with a 21-inch touchscreen inside the door, and comes with a host of clever features. Bixby, Samsung's voice-activated assistant, allows users to access entertainment apps, make notes for your family (think of it as a large digital version of the notepad that is stuck to the refrigerator) and check the weather forecast and much more.
The touchscreen can also be used to manage your food items and recipes, with the option to add ingredients directly from an app for recipes and view what's in the fridge with internal cameras. You can also create shopping lists on the go and keep track of foods to know when they'll expire. You can also use a recipe app to read the recipe while you cook.
This is the second generation of Family Hub fridges and Samsung says it's spent a year fine-tuning them based on customer feedback. You can now create separate profiles for each family member so that they can personalize the information and apps that they have access to. It's still not quite as effective as having Alexa integration built into your fridge but it's an improvement on the previous model.
Apart from its entertainment and grocery management capabilities, Family Hub also acts as a controller for Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can onboard Matter-compatible devices, like lights and plugs and can be used with the touchscreen to control them.
Samsung's fridge is only a few years old and while it still has plenty of features however, its touchscreen capabilities aren't something that majority of people would consider a must-have. They're more fun and semi-frivolous accessories than any other feature.
This may change with the release of more software updates, but for the moment these models are ideal for those who want to have the most extensive connected refrigerator that is possible. If you're not one of them, you can always pick up a cheaper model that doesn't have the Family Hub to save some cash. If you have a lot of smart home appliances that you want to control with one screen, or if you are awed by the idea of a refrigerator with a huge touchscreen, it could be worth the cost.
