What is a "vanilla" person? A white bread sort of person?
I read this phrase in a blog. The woman being described is "a soccer mom".

Une question Γ  la fois. Merci.
Vanilla = mauvais au lit, en trois mots.
It doesn't mean bad in bed. It means she is really plain. Her life is quite ordinary. She doesn't go to crazy rock concerts, trip on acid on the weekends, or speak five languages. She's just a boring, dull soccer mom.
Sorry for that... it was all about context, once again. I asked the question some time ago:

So, soccer mom = vanilla?
OK, thanks.
@ Juan: I looked at your old post. You are correct, vanilla can mean "boring in bed." However, at least in my experience, it's only sexual if implied in the context.

Vanilla, in my mind, refers to vanilla the flavor, and specifically, vanilla ice cream. Because of the savory pleasure of ice cream, sexual pleasure (or displeasure) can be described as "vanilla." E.g., other ice cream flavors, like rocky road or cookies & creme have cookies, marshmallows, nuts, etc. whereas vanilla is just the ice cream, with no extra bits.

However, a "white bread" type of person...that's not very tasty at all. Bread is not a very savory item, so I would never call someone "white bread in bed," but "vanilla in bed" sounds fine.

"Soccer mom," never "soccer woman." A soccer mom is boring because she has no job except to (poorly) drive her kids around to soccer practice in a mini-van or a big suburban, make food, clean the house, and do whatever her husband wants, because he makes the money.

It can be quite pejorative.

"Vanilla" in this context means "flavourless", unlike real vanilla ice-cream which has the flavour of - well - vanilla!
Thank you Journey to the moon. Sorry about the delay... I guess you're right about "Vanilla person". The lady is very "low profile", she does not show boldness, she is ordinary and don't do things that are "crazy". Thank you.

Even though this thread is old, I want to add in case a new reader accesses it, that "soccer mom" is more of a social/cultural term compared to "vanilla" or "white bread" personality descriptions. Some moms in the US are quite proud of being "soccer moms" because it also means that they are very devoted moms. In addition, since soccer as a kids' sport is associated with suburban and wealthier culture than football or baseball, being a soccer mom indicates status (e.g.: a soccer mom doesn't need to work to bring money home because the husband provides for the whole family). So a "soccer mom" may or may not be "vanilla" (in bed) and a person who is "vanilla" in bed, might have no idea of what is soccer.
Agreed… I would not have made a connection between a "soccer mom" and somebody who is "vanilla". The latter term can now increasingly be found in UK English and a rough synonym would be "bland" or "normal" (as in a person who lives a normal life and has no "issues").
"Vanilla" sex does not necessarily mean "boring". It means "not kinky", referring to someone who always chooses the same flavor of ice cream and doesn't feel the desire to try anything different.

In some hotels in countries that grow vanilla, the maids/housekeepers rub the bean across the pillows to leave a fresh vanilla scent behind. So the significance of finding the bean on your bed was a busy/forgetful housekeeper.
Vanilla bean paste can be replaced in a recipe by vanilla sugar, vanilla extract or vanilla powder.
There are purple beans but the vanilla bean is brown.
