Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are used on the majority of doors. These handles can work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are typically employed on UPVC doors with double glazing and come in a range of finishes and variations.
The handles have been tested to at least 200k cycles and are available in a variety of finishes like White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with a high performance and durability for its intended use.
All of the UPVC handle lever pad styles come with the spindle and screws which allow them to be put on a new or existing uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixing centres allow for a wider size handle that can often be a benefit when replacing a damaged or worn multi point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles hanging out of their horizontal position when they are not in use.
When selecting the replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is important to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. This measurement is also referred to as the "handle centre" or "cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect in ensuring that you have the appropriate handles.
Once you have decided on the proper PZ size it is important to make sure that the push and lever pads are designed to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. These are typically round or square with an internal lever, and an external push pad.

This prevents drafts and cold air from getting into a house. It is also the case that the majority of the UPVC handle lever pad style handles are hand-operated, allowing you to install them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are commonly used on uPVC doors, but they can also be found on other types of door. The cylinder lock is operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder's case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned with those in the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with internal and external doors usually having different levels of security.
The selection of a cylinder is essential. It is based on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. For example, external doors should be fitted with an extra secure cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can improve security, for instance, anti-drill or anti bump properties.
A euro cylinder must be properly measured to ensure that it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder and the thumb turn if you have one. If you are unable measure it using the lock in its position, you can take it out of it. It is important to ensure that there is no cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.
The design of the latest cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. These features are designed to minimize the chances of an attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in the opposite direction. This will help to stop the attack and keep your doors safe.
There are also cylinders that are made to resist snapping. This is a more frequent type of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is smashed by a tool that is specially designed to snap off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is a lot faster and easier to achieve than opening the door with multipoint locks. It also leaves little evidence of a break-in, which can hinder the insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette is found in the base plate of your door handle.
