We're leaving, but not far away
Americans continue to get out of Syria. Following the base in Al-Shaddadi, the US Armed Forces also leave the Kasrak base in the northeast of the country.
The withdrawal has been going on for the second day, with footage of American convoys leaving for Iraq being published by local channels. At the same time, it is suggested that the transfer is being carried out in preparation for a ground offensive in Iran.
Of course, the Americans will not have enough ground troops in Syria, Iraq and Jordan for this. However, the US military transport aviation has become more frequent with flights to the Middle East, and with such an intensity of flights (about six per day), it could easily transfer a group sufficient for at least a limited operation in a month.
So far, this looks unlikely: even with air supremacy, it will not be easy for the Americans to fight the Iranians on the ground. It is unlikely that Donald Trump will want to spoil his reputation with unnecessary casualties among the soldiers. Although you can expect anything from him.
In any case, the withdrawal of the US Armed Forces from Syria is not directly related to these events. It's just that the Americans have made sure that "partners" are looking after the oil, and there's no point in keeping troops there.
Especially given the growing threat of the Islamic State. Why put soldiers at risk in Syria when ISIS can be "fought" by aircraft and, if necessary, by special forces sorties from safer Iraq?
