The video portrays the energetic vibe of the record with Well$ and his crew turning up for its duration.
"Sipho [producer of 'XXX'] really knows what sounds good with my style," Well$ said. "When I heard the beat, I could already feel the party atmosphere that it conveyed. There is a great vibe on this track but, ironically, 'XXX' is intended to paint the image of my psyche and inner turmoil. I felt down on my luck at the time and my dreams were beyond my reach. It felt liberating to have such a vision, but at the same time, the burden of uncertainty was overwhelming."
Well$ also touched on his great album title, which comes from a place of real turmoil within his family.
"The way it makes my mom nervous is because I chose the opposite path that they had wanted for me," he said. "My parents came to America to escape a tyrannical regime. For them, pursuing formal education and a career is the only way a person can make something out of themselves; unless you’re a doctor or a lawyer, you ain’t shit. But I left the house when I was 17 without finishing high school and on bad terms. I chose the path of entrepreneurship. I want to be self-made, to pursue my dreams and do something that I actually love.”
