With great pleasure, I would like to announce that after much prayer and deliberation, we have a new principal of Christ the King School!

Hello! I am so excited to join the Christ the King community as Principal for the 2023-2024 school year. I just completed my 4th year of teaching and am excited to start a new chapter here at Christ the King. I was raised Catholic in Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Missouri (MIZ!). I have a deep love for classical education, cooking, spending time outdoors, and trying new local places (especially coffee shops). Over the past few months, the Lord has clearly been at work leading me here to Christ the King so I am excited to see the things He has in store--He has BIG plans! I look forward to meeting you all and having you on my team to form future saints here at Christ the King!

The Selection Committee

I would like to thank the members of the Christ the King community for their diligence and prayerfulness in helping to discern among our applicants:

We are also grateful to the assistant superintendent of Catholic schools, Allison Carney, for her membership on the commitee as well.

The Selection Committee reviewed the resumes and did some independent research on the applicants. They prepared a list of questions for the interview and participated in a lively discussion that allowed the applicants to present themselves to us, and to allow them to get to know Christ the King. I did not guide or direct the interview process beyond these parameters, nor did I express my own preferences as to which candidate was best for us. After the interviews, we conducted a brief blind vote, and Alex was unanimously voted as the top candidate. Over the following days, we reviewed this initial vote, considered objections, and settled on a final decision that she was right for the job. I should add that each of the members remarked at how rare it was for people of such widely different backgrounds to agree so clearly on such a big decision.

A few comments from the Selection Committee:

Jonathan Clark:
I hold the conviction that God has uniquely gifted and equipped Alex to serve Christ the King in this season.... I have experienced nothing but peace about the direction we discerned and hopeful anticipation about what lies ahead for our school.

Deida Galvez:

I believe Alex is our best option given everyone's priorities and opinions resulting in the unanimous selection of the same candidate. I have read through your feedback and prayed not only for CTK school but also for my children and their educational experience. I believe as a group we have determined that Alex is the best fit for our future goals and the continued development of our school.

Bienvenidos a Alex Weibel como Directora de la Escuela Christ the King

¡Con gran placer, me gustaría anunciar que después de mucha oración y deliberación, tenemos una nueva directora de la Escuela Christ the King!

¡Hola! Estoy muy emocionada de unirme a la comunidad de Christ the King como directora para el año escolar 2023-2024. Acabo de completar mi cuarto año de enseñanza y estoy emocionada de comenzar un nuevo capítulo aquí en Christ the King. Crecí católica en Minneapolis y me gradué de la Universidad de Missouri. Tengo un profundo amor por la educación clásica, y me gusta cocinar, pasar tiempo al aire libre y probar nuevos lugares locales (especialmente el café). El Comité de Selección revisó los currículos e hizo una investigación independiente sobre los candidatos. Prepararon una lista de preguntas para la entrevista y participaron en una animada conversación que permitió a los solicitantes presentarse ante nosotros y permitirles conocer a Cristo Rey. No guié ni dirigí el proceso de entrevista más allá de estos parámetros, ni expresé mis propias preferencias sobre qué candidato era mejor para nosotros. Después de las entrevistas, llevamos a cabo una breve votación a ciegas y Alex fue votado por unanimidad como el candidato preferido. Durante los días siguientes, revisabamos este voto inicial, consideramos las objeciones, y llegamos a una decisión final de que ella era la preferida para el papel. Debo agregar que cada uno de los miembros comentó lo raro que era que personas de orígenes tan diferentes estuvieran de acuerdo tan claramente en una decisión tan importante.

Jonathan Clark:
Tengo la convicción de que Dios ha dotado y equipado de manera única a Alex para servir a Cristo Rey en esta temporada... No he experimentado nada más que paz acerca de la dirección que discernimos y anticipación con mucha esperanza sobre lo que le espera a nuestra escuela.

Deida Gálvez:
Creo que Alex es nuestra mejor opción dadas las prioridades y opiniones de todos, lo que resultó en la selección unánime del mismo candidato. He leído sus comentarios y oraba no solo por la escuela CTK sino también por mis hijos y su experiencia educativa. Creo que como grupo hemos determinado que Alex es la mejor opción para nuestras metas futuras y el desarrollo continuo de nuestra escuela.
