I have really enjoyed this camera. The only drawback is that the flexible legs on the tripod are not that flexible and are limited in movement.

Good value for the money. I bought it to have video on work conference calls as it’s what the company expects. Video is sharp and bright, but it occasionally jumps or flashes. Would buy again.

IDK man, it has serious quality issues

This webcam was very easy to set up and use with Zoom and Skype. A nice feature is that it has a privacy cap for the lens.

While the camera quality is good... the mic is not great. Sometimes it will be muffled but also, if you turn your camera off, the mic turns off too. So if you want to be off-camera but still able to talk, use the retractable lens cover provided with the camera. I have 2 of these so clearly, the mic isnt too big of a deal. I think the quality is very good for the low price. This review is very contradictory... oh well.

Camera has very good quality and the three legged stand is a nice feture

This is a great cam for the price you pay. Easy to hook up I have a hp laptop.

It is a very good camera. Plug and play. Mount it on top of the screen, plug in the USB, and it works. On my main computer, I don't have a built in camera. It started working directly. On my laptop, I used to get a question to choose between the USB and the built in camera. I disabled the built in camera, and now it works directly. The advantage of a pluggable camera is that hackers cannot use it to spy on you. Overall, the images are very good for teleconferencing. I use the 720 setting and the image is crisp.

Worked well at the beginning but…

It worked well at the beginning but now the picture is fuzzy, no one can hear me & I have to go really close to the screen. It’s useless and I don’t use it anymore because I spend my entire time with everyone saying they can’t hear me. It also doesn’t always work when it’s supposed to. Would not recommend!

It was affordable and easy to install.

This webcam was quite easy to install and easy to used. I just plug in and it was ready to used. The microphone was so clear when I am on my live chat. The only disappoints me with this webcam is that there is not tripod mount which means it stuck putting this webcam on top of something like screen or thin device. But the quality of the image is great and amazing, I haven’t any noticed any pixelation. It used it with several programmes and it was great. The sound quality was amazing as well even from distance. For the price it was worth of money and I will definitely recommend this item.

First for first few months, then stopped working

It works as expected initially. This camera does have the fish-eye effect. Comes with a stand (unused), is quite compact. After a couple of month though, sometimes when plugging in it would not connect and had to unplug and plug back in a few times for it to work. I used on two different laptops so issue was on webcam rather than laptop port. Eventually just stopped working. So 5 star to begin with, if lasted at least 12 months would be OK, but only a few months so 2 stars off on quality.

Plug and Play at its finest

Great little camera, great image quality plugged in and worked straight out of box. Nice wide angle lens, makes it ideal for conference calls on zoom or Microsoft teams. All our local stores were sold out of web cams so was really pleased how quick Amazon was able to supply and dispatch. Also came with a little cover for added privacy, and a free tripod for use as a desk mounted camera. Highly recommended, with the and at a reasonable price.

Great quality but has a time lag

I love this camera - the picture quality is true to life, so clear and better than my built-in camera. This is the easiest to set up - Plug in USB - connect to WiFi and go! The legs are great for positioning the camera anywhere - particularly resting on the laptop keyboard on a videocall - gives that valuable impression you're looking right at the person you're talking to - brilliant! The downside sadly is I found on a couple of calls is the time delay or lag behind - the visual and vocals are not in sync. Unexplainable really and very frustrating when someone can see you talking but the words are heard seconds later. If anyone can tell me how to fix that I'll be grateful. A great buy but delayed synchronisation is a problem for me.

The low-res 720p webcam in your laptop doesn't always cut it for Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet. Here are a handful of premium webcams to come to your rescue.
I've been reviewing hardware and software, devising testing methodology and handed out buying advice for what seems like forever; I'm currently absorbed by computers and gaming hardware, but previously spent many years concentrating on cameras. I've also volunteered with a cat rescue for over 15 years doing adoptions, designing marketing materials, managing volunteers and, of course, photographing cats.
Before the pandemic, webcams were not as common. They were mostly used by business professionals, streamers, and people with friends and family abroad. And if you did need one, the 720p webcam on your laptop would suffice. However, Zoom, Skype, and other video calling services have become more commonplace for everyone, whether you're a student or worker. If you want to look good during a meeting or in front of your classmates, a proper webcam is a necessity. And finding the best webcam 2022 has to offer won't be hard -- we've compiled a list to help you find a webcam with the right features for you.
It's not that difficult to find a decent external webcam: Market-leader Logitech makes most of the most popular name-brand models on the market -- notably the $80 C920x and basic, education-focused $25 C270 -- and you probably won't go wrong picking one that falls within your budget. Once you venture beyond known brands, however, you can get lost in a sea of commodity models.
Improving your environment with good lighting or a better angle can frequently enhance the quality of your webcam video more than upgrading the camera itself. Keep in mind, however, that the best camera won't necessarily deliver great video and audio quality on the other end; that can depend upon the consistency and quality of your network connection.

With excellent video quality, intelligent operation and software and a good built-in, noise canceling mic, Insta360's debut webcam stole my heart. It's got nearly all the must-features of competitors -- including 1080p/60fps streaming, a vertical video mode, a gimbal with automatic tracking, custom presets plus tons more -- and is as good or better at everything.
It's not perfect, though most of my gripes can likely be fixed in software or firmware; they're not necessarily hardware flaws. There's no way to change the default sleep timer or initial framing state, you can't save image-related presets (like exposure compensation or white balance), the app doesn't let you rotate the camera vertically and it can get pretty hot.
Oh, yeah. It's also really expensive: not overpriced for what you get, but more than a lot of people can or are willing to pay for a webcam. If being polished on camera is part of your job, though, it might be worth it to you.
I had my doubts about this at first: There are so many small, unfamiliar brands on Amazon that it takes a lot more than a 4-plus star review to pique my interest. But I was quite surprised at how good this basic webcam is for just $40, much of which has to do with the software. It also supports Macs, something the camera it replaces doesn't. (It's the Creative Live Cam Sync 1080p V2 , which remains a fine choice for Windows at an attractive $30 to $40.)
There's only so much you can do with the image quality on a basic 1080p 30fps webcam, but the Nexigo still delivers better video quality than many 720p laptop webcams, with relatively solid white balance and autoexposure, even across various lighting conditions. Don't expect great 1080p picture quality at full-size viewing or in low light, though. There you can see noise and softness, though it's no worse than most 1080p webcams under $100. Scaled down to typical laptop viewing size, it looks good.
Nexigo's software isn't pretty, but some of it's a lot more functional than much of what I've used. For instance, the manual white balance actually works well along a continuum rather than just giving you a choice between too pink or too green. It also allows you to save presets for all the adjustable settings. It doesn't currently work with MacOS Monterey, so I couldn't test that, but the company promises an update to support the latest version of the OS within the next couple of months.
