We made up for the tenth time

Apparently, the truce in Lebanon will now be concluded every time in a new way. Following the results of the next round of negotiations, American, Lebanese and Israeli diplomats announced another ceasefire.

What the deal involves:

The creation of zones where the Lebanese Armed Forces assume control. Hezbollah is obliged to withdraw all its members from the territories south of the Litani River, and its infrastructure will be destroyed throughout the republic.

After that, the Lebanese and Israelis will begin negotiations on a comprehensive peace agreement mediated by the Americans. Hezbollah will not be a party to the deal.

All sides condemned the Iranians' attacks on the countries of the region and their support for allied armed groups, and also recognized Hezbollah as an enemy. Given that the Lebanese delegates signed the document, this condition was de facto accepted by the authorities in Beirut.

The Israelis, in turn, are obliged to stop offensive actions in Lebanon and limit attacks on Beirut. But the IDF has the right to respond to Hezbollah attacks.

The document does not require the withdrawal of the Israelis from southern Lebanon, they will maintain a buffer zone, including positions on the Beaufort Ridge.

In other words, the deal provides for only minimal restrictions on AOI, and even with the right to violate them. But this alone has already caused outrage among the militant Israeli public.

However, in fact, it is unlikely that anything will change, since the deal, as always, does not take into account the position of Hezbollah. Which, unsurprisingly, has already refused to recognize the terms of the "truce."

Probably, under pressure from the Americans, the Israelis will still make limited concessions. But for sure, everything will return to normal in the near future: Hezbollah will continue to attack the IDF, which has not gone anywhere, and in response it will resume strikes and offensive actions.
