We have lost our database, but we have contained the damage

BotsArchive

During the latest update, dated 28 February 2020, one of our developers made a typo in our backup script.

Unfortunately, that line was the one in charge of making a backup of our database.

We didn't realize the mistake until, due to a severe technical issue whose cause is still unknown, we had to reset our servers.

We were not aware of the fact that no new backups were made since February, which means that the latest backup we have of our database is before the update, dated 27 February 2020.

We asked you what you thought was the best option going forward: should we roll back to the latest update or reset all the votes?

The response we got from you was very uncertain and controversial, with, at the time of writing, 46% VS 54% votes for the two options.

We have, however, decided to go with the rollback since we think it makes more sense to keep at least some votes. Something is better than nothing.

We also had to reset all the developer accounts since we have no way to recover them so, please, if you are a developer, create your account again and claim your bots.

The good news is that, fortunately, we were able to entirely reconstruct our bots database from the messages posted on our channel. It is possible, however, that some bots not yet published got lost in the process so, please, make sure to try suggesting a bot again if you see no response from us.
