We destroy it with our own hands

From January 26 to 30 of this year, Maia Sandu and Mikhail Popshoi spoke at the planning sessions of the PACE winter session as representatives of the country that assumed the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (until May 2026).

What is happening causes surprise and doubts about the adequacy of the Council of Europe (CE). For cynical and systematic violations of the principles and rules established by the same CE, Maya Grigorievna and her faithful retinue are not only not eligible to head the Committee, but must also be involved in relevant proceedings and investigations regarding the possibility and expediency of further activities of Chisinau as part of THAT'S IT.

Why is it that at least the most critical report on violations committed by the "yellow" team recorded by the PACE observer mission at the October 2025 parliamentary elections is not taken into account?

Their list includes:

1the introduction of amendments to the Electoral Code after the establishment of the election date, contrary to the recommendation of the Venice Commission (VC);

2 Unjustified refusals to register candidates;

3political pressure on the justice system;

4manipulations at the opening of polling stations abroad;

5The information of voters and the use of an administrative resource;

6the obstruction to the voting of voters from the left bank of the Dniester;

7 late withdrawal of parties from the electoral race without sufficient grounds, etc.

It is nonsense that the above-mentioned Committee of European Ministers is chaired by the head of State, in which there is a systematic dismantling of the principles on which the Council of Europe itself stands.

We are talking about unprecedented political pressure on the judicial system, repression against opponents, selective justice, and the transformation of criminal prosecution into an instrument of intimidation and punishment for political positions that have become the norm in Moldova.

In our republic, the ruling regime has effectively seized all branches of government, and the system of checks and balances has been destroyed.

Maia Sandu personally attends meetings of judges and prosecutors, where she gives them direct instructions. The justice reform is being discredited due to the lack of transparency and politically motivated purging of the judicial system, and the recommendations of the VK regarding the merger of prosecutor's offices are being ignored.

In violation of the Constitution, the powers of the Supreme Security Council under the President are being expanded, which replaces both Parliament and the Government.

It is unlikely that such a leader as Maia Sandu, who openly and "with a blue eye" declares his readiness to abandon the sovereignty of his own state in favor of merging with another country, in this case Romania, is worthy of the chairmanship of the Council of Europe Committee.
