I applied wax on my laminate floor by mistake so my floor had a layer of film and became a footprint collector. I tried many cleaning products but all of them just temporarily remove the footprints. Once I step on it, footprints show up again. I think this product successfully removed the film permanently because footprints are gone, no matter I walk on the floor just barefoot or wear socks. I did use a brush but didn't see anything coming off the floor as other users did. My floor is only 3 years old so I guess this product can "eat through" a thin layer of wax without brush the floor. If you just do it by just using wipes and mop as I did, be prepared for the "excise". It a little bit of work. I was tired after cleaning the floor but the result is so satisfying. People mention the smell issues. My packaging came broken with a little leaking, so I smelt a very strong ammonia smell when I opened the box. However, if you diluted it appropriately, you shouldn't smell anything during the process. Good luck!

This has nothing to do with the product!! But, It was delivered to me with leakage all around the cap. It isn't worth it to me (25 miles from UPS) to return it. The bottle has some in it so will try using it and hopefully, it will work - NOT GOOD

I put a coat of wax on my no-wax wood floor, thinking it would bring up the shine. It went on blotchy and I knew immediately I had made a mistake. So I started the hunt for something to remove it, without damaging my no-wax finish. Several diy websites mentioned white vinegar in water. Didn't work at all. Murphys cleaning oil worked ok, but I would have had to spend about 30 hours scrubbing it off, inch by inch. Trewax Instant Wax Remover was mentioned as a wonderful product, but it says it shouldn't be used on wood floors. However a couple of reviewers said they used it on their no-wax wood floors and it worked like a charm. So I tried it, and I agree with them! It was the only thing I tried that didn't required me to scrub endlessly, although I did have to get on my hands and knees for parts of the floor. Then I rinsed it with a sponge mop and water (leaving no water on the floor). My floor is back to it's original satin finish. I gave it four stars because I don't understand why they say it shouldn't be used on no-wax wood . . . worked for me and some others who reviewed it. I do suggest you try it first in a discreet spot, since maybe your finish is different than mine and it won't work for you.

I couldn’t be happier with Trewax! I have an older no wax floor in my bathroom that was filthy looking all the time with build up from other cleaners I had used. I’ve tried everything to remove the buildup. I was ready to tear out the floor and replace it. Then I thought I would try this after reading the reviews. It saved my floor! It’s absolutely incredible. I did half water half solution, I worked on my hands and knees with a scrubber sponge and fine steel wool. The floor has a texture to it that grabs all of the buildup. I let the solution sit for a few minutes then started wiping it and everything came off! I was truly amazed. This stuff does stink, I only did a small section at a time. But wow I recommend this I can’t believe how my floor looks now it’s just like new. I used the sealer step two after using this. It looks beautiful.

Used a wire brush to remove old wax in pitted ceramic floor. Was difficult and did not remove all of the old wax.

I added the mix to the floor and let it stand for fifteen minutes. Then I used a stiff brush to loosen it up then used a shop-vac to suck it up. Took a mop with hot water and went over the floor. Works very good.

I made the mistake of putting a wax coating on my tile floor (it was made for tile - argh!!). After a few weeks, the floor surface was covered in scratches, drips, etc. that marred the "shine". I tried ammonia and white vinegar, but these only cut a little of the wax. Desperate to get the wax off, I gave this product a try. I carefully followed the directions and scrubbed the wax off (remember "wax on - wax off"). This product removed the wax coating and left my tiles and grout undamaged. Whew! The key is working in small areas (like the instructions state). If you don't, you'll find yourself in a mess. I used a microfiber cloth in a bucket with the product to wipe it on and buff the wax loose. Let it sit a couple minutes and then used a different cloth in clear water to rinse. Rinsing is most important because if you let the product dry - the floor will have a stripped wax-goo mess. Be prepared to work, but you'll enjoy a clean floor when you're done. Thank goodness for this product!

This product is absolutely amazing! I needed to strip that old, liquid wax stuff (mop & glo & others) which is garbage off my hardwood floors. It doesn't include usage for wood on the label, but have been doing research & diluted 1:1 let it sit for a few minutes & it came off with ease! I'm so pleased I can do my floors over to make them look new. I'm also EXTREMELY pleased that there was ZERO odor. & I mean NONE. I am doing floor in my bedroom & it's winter so no windows were open & my gma didn't even know I was doing it, she's down the hall. I would DEFINITELY recommend this product to others.

Does not work well to remove ski wax

I searched for ski wax remover and this product was shown I bought it to find on the label skis were not mentioned I tied it anyhow and was disappointed with the result I should have ordered swix !
