Stormy Daniels was to return for this sequel, but walked off the set on her first day after a dispute with the director without filming any scenes.
I find that Jim Wynorski's softcore movies can be very hit or miss. While Retromedia, the other main factory for these campy softcore films, tends to always have a baseline of quality and have better plots/writing, Wynorski's can be all over the place. This is one of those films where he really hit the high end of things, though. The biggest strength in this film was, by far, the casting. The plot was a paper thin rehashing of the previous Witches of Breastwick with minor changes. Where it really shined was in the gorgeous women in this installment. Tylene Buck is absolutely gorgeous, and seeing her in the act of sex, even simulated, is something I've been hoping would happen for a long time. She delivers in her scene with Frankie Cullen, and it totally steals the movie. The overall bustiness of the cast is excellent as well, but that's typical for one of Wynorski's skin flicks. Obviously a breast man, he picks the biggest and the best. I missed Wynorski regular Julie K. Smith, but that can be forgiven because of her being in the previous installment in the series.

Love the movie, though it can get a bit odd and uncomfortable and the one scene with jack and the cherries totally ruined it for me. But still a fun movie if you don't mind gruesome.

Alright, let's start off by saying that this is one of my favorite classic films that I can't stop thinking about. Long story short, I recorded into a makeover movie with today's R&B singers and locals I used to know. That being said, the cast was fantastic, Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer as Alexandra, Suki and Jane. And you can't forget the Devil, ladies and gentlemen, Jack Nicholson as Daryl Van Horne. With stars like them, it's hard to go wrong. As the ladies get together for a little celebration of divorce and freedom, snacking on cheese and crackers and sipping on wine they start thinking why keep doing the same routine every Thursday night, so they settle down and think of a man, a real man. And that's where the magic begins. Whatever these ladies think of in their minds, it really happens. Hey, they already made it rain. Anyway, the next day, the rumors quickly spread around town saying a man bought the mansion he liked in Eastwick. A woman named Felicia freaks out and disagrees about the guy moving in because she senses evil. I honestly believe she was a Modern-day witch too. Anyway, the ladies finally know the name of this mysterious man. Pearls drop, Felicia trips and falls down the stairs, breaking her leg. The way Daryl meets and greets the ladies is breathtaking. He leaves them laughing and speechless all at once. He seduces them and has them thinking that they found their dream man. They stay and have neverending fun with him and reflect on life and everything else they talk about. Meanwhile, Felicia gets crazier and looses it in her church. Her husband Clyde laughs it off and drags her outside while she shouts and screams obscenities and sticking up her middle finger. I don't know why, but that is my favorite part of the movie, next to the scene where she demonicly spews out endless cherry pits. Realizing that Felicia is dead due to what Clyde did, the ladies turn against each other and force themselves not to see Daryl again. He doesn't like the idea, he retaliates, gives them frights, pain and aging reflections. Then, they are shocked to know that they are pregnant. Three of them conjure up a plan to take him down. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Daryl's in for a broomstick ride! Enough spoilers, go and get this movie. You won't be disappointed. It's everything you ever wanted in a movie. Trust me.

Jank Nicholson seems born to play the most of the roles he plays, whether it's Melvin Udall, the Joker, or Randall P. McMurphy. Another he always seemed tailor made for was the devil. His dark demeanor, his black sense of humor and even his look made him an ideal choice for Old Scratch. Well, in 1987, Nicholson got a chance to play the role of a lifetime in the adaptation of John Updike's classic novel "The Witches Of Eastwick". Nicholson chews the scenery and steals the show. Alex Medford (Cher), Jane Spofford (Susan Sarandon) and Sukie Ridgemont (Michelle Pfeiffer) are three lonely, upset woman. They have either been widowed (Alex), divorced (Jane), or deserted (Sukie). One night, as they gather for a weekly night of card playing and conversation, they wish for the perfect man. Enter Daryl Van Horne (Nicholson), a brooding, sinister man who has (literally) cast a spell on the small New England town, but still claims to be "your average horny little devil". One by one, he seduces the three girls until they give themselves to sins of the flesh. Daryl showers the women with gifts and brings a sense of la dolce vita to the lives of these girls. But as Daryl's presence of the girls becomes more prominent, so do strange occurences in the small town of Eastwick. People start dying, Sukie winds up in the hospital, and the three girls are despised by the town. To make matters worse, all three girls are pregnant. As Daryl begins to show his true identity, the girls are thrust into a game of cat and mouse to stop further tragedy from occuring in Eastwick. This film is absolutely amazing. Nicholson is everything you expect him to be: crude, intimidating and slightly insane. From his outrageous conversation with Alex over lunch to his speech about how women were a mistake at the church near the end, every scene is pure Nicholson. Of course, credit must go to the three women as well. Cher gives one of her best performances ever. 1987 proved to be a big year for Cher, starring in three critically acclaimed films: this, "Suspect" and her Oscar winning performance in "Moonstruck". Susan Sarandon finally gets a chance to rise above her cult status as Janet Weiss from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and gives a memorable performance as Jane. Indeed, when you think about it, Janet and Jane can both be seen as similar characters, as both go from nerdy all Americans to carefree women giving themselves over to absolute pleasure (no pun intended), no matter what the consequence. And then there's Michelle Pfeiffer. Well, she puts on one of her all time greatest performances here, exuding a high amount of sex appeal (which she would use to full force when she played Catwoman in "Batman Returns" five years later) as well as proving that even at a young stage in her career, she can hold her own against Jack Nicholson (she already had proved herself worthy to go up against Pacino for years earlier in "Scarface"). This is definitely a must see movie. It is one of the best horror-comedies ever, and the outstanding cast gives you enough reason to watch this movie.

If your dreams come true you might get more than you expected. That’s the theme of Witches of Eastwick where Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer don’t realizes they’re witches and they manifest the man of their dreams in Jack Nicholson. The interactions between them is a sight to see. There’s one for instance where he frolics on his bed to try to seduce Cher that’s hilarious. As he says he’s just a “horny little devil.” He personifies the role so well. There’s also a young Richard Jenkins with hair! He’s funny as well as he’s terrified of his wife Veronica Cartwright who rants and raves about Nicholson being evil. All together this makes for a great comedy about desire, lust and make believe.

From the director who brought us Mad Max comes a modern-day fairy tale of sorts that examines the age-old battle of the sexes. Alex (Cher), Jane (Susan Sarandon) and Sukie (Michelle Pfeiffer) are three single women who live in the sleepy New England town of Eastwick. Since all of them lack a man in their lives, and are dissatisfied with the ones who are in town, they wish for a handsome stranger to visit. Miraculously, their wish is granted when Daryl Van Horne (Jack Nicholson) strolls into town and succeeds in turning their lives (and the town's) upside down. For the most part, I thought that the story was very effective in setting up its characters and giving them depth, even Daryl. The three women who are the titular "Witches of Eastwick" were all distinct personalities and had situations that made you care about them. Generally speaking, the performances were all very good, although Jack Nicholson towers above the rest of the cast as he brings his brand of insanity to what is essentially the devil in human form. Even the whole "witch" thing was dealt with rather subtly, as the women only become witches by finding the power within themselves. It is this struggle between male and female power which forms the core conflict of the film, and it is a compelling one even though it has been many times over in various forms. The townspeople are also given some development, although probably not enough to warrant the attention provided them. There are references made to the Salem witch trials, and the wife of the town's newspaper editor (Richard Jenkins...with hair!) acts as the mouthpiece for morality when the the three "witches" start their relationship with Daryl. Despite this interesting aside, I think it detracts a little bit from the main conflict. Moving on, I also thought that John Williams' score was fantastic and had this magical/mysterious quality that really meshed with the story and visuals. It's not his best score, but it was still a very good one. There were also a number of special effects by ILM which I thought were also well-done, especially considering this was made in 1987. Overall, I thought this was a very entertaining and funny movie that presented a well-worn theme in a fresh way. The only detraction, I think, is that there's a bit of a mean streak in regards to the portrayal of the male characters which might turn that half of the audience off. Still, this is a quality film that shows off director George Miller's versatility and the acting talents of its cast.
