This is Tyson Beckford, a 41(!) year-old male fashion model, I just looked him up. If you told me this guy was 31, I would believe you despite how long he’s been on the scene. That’s because I always confuse him with Tyrese Gibson , a 33 year-old model who is also a bald African American guy with a gorgeous physique and haunting eyes. I could on about each of them, with the same adjectives, for quite some time.
Well Tyson really wants to distinguish himself from Tyrese. “Someone” (read: Tyson) is shopping a sex tape in which he gets off, remotely, with a female model online, and goes on at length about his career. It’s like a video promo with Tyson jerking off to his past and future prospects. According to TMZ, Tyson talks about his movie roles and how people often confuse him with Tyrese. In response to this, Tyson has tweeted that it doesn’t “faze him.” Of course it doesn’t, he’s hoping this relaunches his career. Sex tapes, especially of celebrities, don’t get released in this climate without each of the participants signing off. Here’s more on this story, thanks to TMZ :
A sex tape which is said to feature male supermodel Tyson Beckford is being shopped around the adult entertainment community … TMZ has learned.
Sources tell us … the seller insists the 45-minute tape shows the former Polo model pleasuring himself during a recent Internet video chat with a female model.
We’re told … during the chat session, Tyson makes references to some of the movies he’s appeared in … and talks about some of his co-stars.
Sources say Beckford also reveals one of his pet peeves — being mistaken for Tyrese Gibson…
TMZ broke the story … someone is shopping footage of the 41-year-old former Polo model pleasuring himself during a recent Internet video chat with a female model.
Tyson went on Twitter yesterday to address the issue with fans … saying he’s “sad but life goes on.”
“Don’t even faze me” … Tyson added … “We all do it, just mine got caught on film.”
He also admitted, “Not much of a sex tape lol.”
Beckford also got Twitter love from “Transformers” star Tyrese Gibson … the same guy who he gripes about being confused with on the sex tape.
“What folks don’t know is that Tyson opened the door for me to model” … Tyrese explained.
Tyrese also says the confusion with Tyson has helped him get laid (like these guys need help) … saying, “I’ve pulled a few of your fans who thought I was YOU..!! They were too bad to let them go!! Lol!”
What a coincidence that we’re treated to both a “sex tape” with Tyson along with a treatise on his fabulous career. Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to see this guy get busy, but with a partner, not alone with his thoughts of grandeur. This is one way to get his name in the press again, and in his mind it’s probably not a bad one. He’s not really going to satisfy his female fans, though. Maybe it’s just my take on it, but guys and their hands just don’t do it for me. I don’t care how hot they are. Not that I wouldn’t watch this.

I saw the Shauna Sands pics and I thought they were posed too, especially b/c you can never see the dude’s face in any of the pics. It’s like she didn’t want any distractions from her.

I haven’t seen these sex tapes hurt women’s careers. No A-Listers have been hurt in the filming of this movie. The highest list person in those tapes was Pammy she was at her peak when it was released. She was more or less known as a sex performer anyway so what’s the harm?

I have to say, I LOVE this guy. My college roommates and I all watched the Make Me a Supermodel series on Bravo, and his hosting/mentoring was one of the best parts.
Not only was he always really sweet and supportive of the guys (they had a different mentor for the girls), but there were all these little scenes of him, like walking into the house or something and just being flat out adorable.
Personally I don’t think a non-actor could have faked it, especially given the difficulty involved in comedic timing.
Also, beyond being good looking and black, I really don’t see a lot of resemblance between him and Tyrese Gibson. Tyrese has a much sleeker ‘prettier’ face, while Tyson has a more square jawed traditionally handsome face. In fact, beyond coloring and unusually slanted eyes, these two look nothing alike.
Edit: just to clarify, when I mention ‘coloring’ in the above statement I’m not trying to be subtle or smart-ass-ed about saying they’re both black, I really do mean that their particular shades are extremely similar, the same way Cate Blanchet and Claire Daines have very similar coloring.

Yup, I agree and was just going to post this–Tyson Beckford and Tyrese Gibson look nothing alike! They do have in common that they are both very beautiful people (personally I prefer Beckford though :P).
Just FYI, Tyson himself had stated in this particular article that he is sometimes confused for Tyrese.
And I agree, Tyson is so pretty/cute, while Tyrese just breathes sleaze for me.
He said people confuse them, not that he thinks they look alike. I do think that there names are pretty similar though. So if you saw a small photo and the caption was male model ‘T-name’ or whatever there could easily be confusion. I mix up names All. The. Time. faces, not so much.
I think it’s the names and both being famous African American MALE models. Famous male models are rare and to me male models are all interchangeable. I think Tyson is part Chinese, hence the eyes.
I confuse them like I do the Ryans. It’s not that they look a like per se (if you pay attention and I don’t always), it’s that they appear to be of similar coloring, age and type. I don’t have the energy to pay attention – generic cute guy… next…
