1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. The most significant innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It uses AI to identify objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you a picture of an object it encounters so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt effortlessly and leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning times and set up Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop by speaking to it.
Its design is an improvement over the rest with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying and is ideal to speed up cleaning.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust, dirt and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one place rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It even managed to catch small gravel and sand that other robots aren't able to do. And it did all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.
The j7+, though not as smart as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot, and isn't able to clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who require both mopping and a vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. floor vacuum robot can take some time to download updates and it can be difficult to know whether they're working until you see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors, a hybrid is the ideal choice. These robots come with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. They are expensive at full retail but often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our favorite robotic vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. disappoint. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it doesn't have certain features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes down to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it a great option for homes with many furniture pieces. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums often fall short. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.
Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled with a few buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas, modify your home map or change the room's label.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock specifically designed to make this machine easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place, emptying the bin can be accomplished without difficulty. It also has an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for most people but it can assist you in keeping the track of your robot's maintenance intervals with ease.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and features are some of the top available however it's expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and is easily hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, chores and functions that other robots would leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require you to do this.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the only robovacs that I've tested that do an excellent job of picking up debris on plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it can get stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a clean zone for plush carpets.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a robot vacuum that does everything.
If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are many alternatives available. A lot of eufy models are significantly less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance, is cheaper and offers the same experience in the app, but with more features like the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.

Its design is more subtle in comparison to other models. It is sleek with a black finish with three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from its rivals. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. It then returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning the area it left.
The elegant G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and offers similar battery life, while providing better performance on floors with no carpet and low-pile carpet. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require to be emptied as frequently and comes with a set of boundaries to ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 is, on the other hand, is more affordable and a lot more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't need emptying as often and it struggles less with heavy materials such as cereal.
