The women of Wisteria Lane face their toughest test of friendship yet when something threatens to tear them apart. In this final explosive season, old neighbours return and new juicy secrets are revealed. Can their long-standing friendships endure the ups and downs of life on the lane?
1. Secrets That I Never Want To Know
Susan, Gaby, Bree, Lynette and Carlos must dispose of the body of Gaby's evil stepfather, who was killed by Carlos in order to protect his wife. But feelings of guilt begin to overcome everyone in different ways. Susan starts to withdraw from her friends and family, and Gaby works to reach out to Carlos while his guilt weighs heavily upon him.
Susan discovers a dangerously thrilling way to help ease her guilt over being an accessory to the murder of Gaby's evil stepfather; Gaby plans a sexy surprise for Carlos to help him gain his sexual mojo back; Bree learns an interesting tidbit about Chuck's past: Lynette and Tom find it hard to say "no" to their kids' sometimes outlandish requests.
As Susan and Carlos bond over their feelings of guilt at the murder of Gaby's stepfather, Mike begins to think that the two are having an affair; Bree suspects that her detective boyfriend, Chuck, may secretly be investigating her; as her marriage continues to crumble, the tables are turned on Lynette when her usually relationship-challenged sister, Lydia, comes to town.
After disobeying the rules of student drop-offs at the front of Juanita's school, Gaby makes it her mission to get even with a parent volunteer who banishes her to a faraway parking lot; Bree discovers that daughter Danielle's new business may not be as wholesome as first thought.
Susan is mortified but tries her best to comply when her art teacher, Andre Zeller (Miguel Ferrer), asks the students to show up to class in the nude in order to help them create from a point of honesty; Bree serves up some delicious, homemade soup for the homeless at the local shelter, but ends up enticing the local hipsters and pushing out those in need.
As Halloween approaches, Gaby, Bree and Lynette must attempt to exhume and move the body of Gaby's murdered stepfather after learning that Ben's real estate development excavation is taking place on that very spot.
Bree is stunned when she learns who dug up the body of Gaby's stepfather; jealousy rears its ugly head when Lynette begins to spread untruths to daughter Penny about Tom's new girlfriend. Gaby and Carlos must convince Lee and Bob that Juanita and Celia aren't the bad seeds that they used to be when they want to name them in their will as guardians.
Detective Chuck Vance begins harassing Bree as his suspicions about her involvement in the disappearance of Alejandro grow; after using the murder of Gaby's stepfather as inspiration for her art school projects, Susan must find a way to graciously decline art school teacher Andre's (Miguel Ferrer) invitation to display and sell her paintings at a gallery showing.
Gaby, Susan and Lynette begin to panic when Chuck calls them in individually for questioning about the disappearance - and possible murder - of Alejandro. And Bree's life begins to spiral into despair when her friends abandon her after they blame her for scorning Chuck and causing him to take out his revenge on them.
With a gun at her side, Bree prepares to end it all now that her friends have abandoned her and her life continues to spiral further into despair; Gaby begins to suspect that Carlos may have had something to do with Detective Chuck Vance's murder; Susan makes up her mind to go to New York to become a true artist - with or without Mike; and an angry Tom cancels his plans to go to Paris.
With Carlos still in rehab, Gaby asks for Lynette's help in wooing a high-stakes company to sign with her husband's firm; Renee talks Bree into getting out of the house and having some fun at a pickup bar; in an attempt to ease her guilt, Susan pays a covert visit to Alejandro's family to see how they've been holding up since he went missing.
Bree's life continues to spiral as her alcohol consumption rises -- as does her lust for men; Lynette goes out on her first date since separating with Tom -- with Renee's hairdresser; Alejandro's current wife suspects foul play is afoot and has a confrontation with Susan; Gaby discovers that Alejandro's step-daughter was also abused.
Susan is in for a shock when daughter Julie pays a visit and shows up six months pregnant; Bree's alcohol consumption and lust for men continues to dominate and ruin her life; Lynette's first sexual encounter since separating from Tom doesn't quite end in fireworks; and Gaby's attempt to sooth Juanita when she doesn't receive a Valentine's Day card from a boy she has a crush on backfires.
Susan discovers the identity of the father of Julie's baby. Orson makes it his duty to nurse Bree back to health.
Susan tells Porter that she'll set up a nursery and watch over his and Julie's baby after Lynette firmly tells her son that she will not help raise her future granddaughter; Orson convinces Bree to go away with him to the Maine countryside - perhaps never returning to Wisteria Lane; Karen pleads with Gaby not to tell Roy about her condition.
Susan convinces Mike to go to the police when she discovers that Ben's loanshark is out to get him; Gaby is justifiably concerned when Carlos exhibits some strange behavior on his first day back to work; Tom's girlfriend, Jane, drops a bombshell on Lynette during Penny's birthday party; and Mrs. McCluskey, who is suffering from terminal cancer, asks Bree to help put an end to her life.
On the day of the funeral of a beloved Wisteria Lane resident, each of the ladies thinks back on how this person had affected their lives. Meanwhile, believing that the investigation died with Chuck Vance, Bree is stunned when she is called in for questioning about the murder of Gaby's stepfather, Alejandro.
Julie becomes concerned over Susan's parenting skills when she begins to allow MJ to do whatever he feels like doing; with Carlos resigning from his high paying job, Gaby tries to land her own high-powered position in order to keep up her extravagant lifestyle; Bree is suspicious of Andrew's intentions when he announces that he's getting married.
Susan discovers that Mike had been hiding a secret from her for years; Bree attempts to hire a high-powered attorney (Scott Bakula) when she becomes the prime suspect in the murder of Gaby's stepfather; Gaby discovers a sexy way to earn a bigger commission at her new job as a personal shopper.
With Mike gone, Susan attempts to build a car for MJ's father-and-son school soapbox derby; Bree's attorney, Trip (Scott Bakula), learns of her previous drunken sexual spree and needs her to come clean about it in order to help strengthen her case.
In the penultimate episode leading into the two-hour finale of this landmark series, as her trial nears, Bree begins to fall for her attorney, Trip (Scott Bakula); Susan becomes concerned when Julie doubts Porter's commitment to be a hands-on father to their unborn baby; as Tom gets closer to being transferred to India for his job - thanks to Lynette.
Trip (Scott Bakula) begs Bree to tell him what really happened the night of Alejandro's murder as her trial begins to go south and it looks like she's about to be convicted; Gaby tries to come up with a solution that will take the burden off of Bree; Susan tries to keep the sale of her house private until she's had a chance to break the news to the ladies.
Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany) returns to Wisteria Lane and offers Lynette an intriguing job opportunity - which could end her chances of reconciling with Tom; the women all agree to take care of Mrs. McCluskey when they discover that she wants to die with dignity at home.

For eight years the outwardly respectable facade of Wisteria Lane has been exposed as a sham. Behind closed doors lives have been in turmoil - secrets galore, marriages disintegrating, treachery in plenty, even a murder or two (more actually). This final season does not disappoint - from that clandestine nocturnal burial of a villain, all the way to the climatic wedding, death and birth followed by a "what happened next" summary about key characters.

Admittedly some storylines are over the top, some a bit silly. For the most part though the season is richly entertaining and at times extremely moving. Can Lynette and Tom truly be heading for divorce? Is Bree in freefall? Is Gabrielle's Carlos becoming dangerously unstable? Will Susan be able to cope with the challenges ahead?

Yes, trials and tribulations - all enhanced by a cast on top form doing full justice to scripts crammed with subtleties, surprises and hilarious oneliners.

Enjoy here an affectionate farewell. Creator Marc Cherry's commentary on the 23rd episode is full of anecdotes about how the show has evolved, favourite moments, tributes to stars whose timing and delivery have so much to add. Bonuses include a twenty minute "I Guess This Is Goodbye" feature - cast, sometimes emotionally, describing what the show has meant to them. Movingly it ends with a tribute to one of their number, who died soon after filming.

Salute here a final treat for the fans.

I used to look down my nose at DH. I'm not a 'soap' fan and thought this would be some dreadful Dallas-esque tripe, but after my husband came home from working abroad with very limited offerings on TV in English very enthusiastic about it, we decided to go back to the beginning and watch from the start. I'm so glad we did. yes, of course there times in the plot lines when you can't help but think "Really? Really???? we're supposed to believe that??" but to be honest its all part of the fun. No-one's pretending its anything other than light-hearted entertainment. the stories are good, the characters twisted and devious enough to be entertaining and the ladies whom it all revolves around are marvellous. Personally my favourite is Felicity Huffman who plays Lynette Scavo, for me the most interesting and human character of them all

All 23 episodes of the final season of DH present in this DVD set spread across 6 discs. Each episode filled with the entertainment that made this show a must for fans of drama with a bit of comedy and glitzy glamour thrown in with some realistic as well as unrealistic storylines, such as Gaby deciding to be the breadwinner of the family when a tragic event continued from season 7 as a main focus of this seaon, causes Carlos to leave his high paying job to train to be a counsellor. She goes from shopper to Personal Shopper to Head of VIP Sales in the space of what seems like just weeks. Great acting as always from the 4 leading ladies and some sad losses in this season along with guest appearances from old faces and new (Scott Bakula to name one). Definitely worth a purchase if you were a fan of the show.

I watched the series in 2004 and 2005, and then I stopped as I got too busy with kids and work - but recently I heard the series ended and I bought the DVDs. Season 8 was really good - the "mystery" was fun and although the writers seem to have forgotten a lot about their own characters (like Gabby's 5 years of struggle when Carlos was blind and she had her 2 daughters), the series came neatly to an end.

Good buy and great prices as alway :) delighted with the purchase the only thing I was unsure when buying was the language section said “Dubbed French” so I panicked when I seen that but it was in English and perfect.
