Is this game possible to play solo?
Solo, as in one ranger?

No, you will be destroyed.
Yes...you can but its becomes a Tactics nightmare. Think of doing it lone wolf is extremely hard mode that you will die more ways than one.
In theory, you could build a team with your main character buffed up and 3 weak characters.

Allow the weak characters to get killed off in an early fight, (ie send them in to melee with no weapons). DON'T KILL THEM YOURSELF or you may bring the wrath of the Rangers down on you.

Then save the game and edit the save file to give your main character +15 Attribute points to buff them up a little, (recomment high Awareness to allow you to strike first in fights and strength), and +15 skill points to at least open up the required skills, (Lock pick, Safe CRack, Demolitions, etc, etc).

I would maybe also increase their XP to something like 2500 which will level you up a little and give you at lease a fighting chance, (though still no chance really).

Also, I would advise avoiding, as much as possible, random encounters and avaoid as much confrontation as possible.

Let us know if you try it and how it went....

It's possible to play with only one char but it require a ♥♥♥♥ load of explosives and some grinding.
Ok, to make it short:

Can you beat the game with one Ranger? Yes!

Can you beat it on Supreme Jerk Difficulty? Yes!

Can you beat it even with a Level-1-Ranger? Yes!

Even though the guides are "only" for the original version most things will work in the DC too. At the moment i am playing a solo Bladerunner on SJ. Lot of fun even though its even easier than the original game. Have fun! ;o)
I think soloing this game is just ridiculous...
Even if it's "possible" regarding combat, and even if you can "beat" the game, you won't explore half of the game because of the lack of skills...
Many quests, many secrets, many branches of the scenario will be out of reach.

I mean : I understand some players like to have some personnal challenges, so everyone can play as he likes...
But playing W2 solo is just a way to waste the game content.

Sure you will miss a lot of content when soloing. Therefore i played my first games with a whole team and only then reduced the team size (and maxed the difficulty). Without proper meta-game-knowledge soloing would be a real nightmare. :D
If the OP doesn't want to play a party based RPG, but wants to play a solo RPG, then I think we need to set him straight: no, this is a party based RPG in which you diversify the skills of your party members to win fights and solve non-combat related puzzles.

This isn't Diablo.
Yes you can. It will be harder and there is no benefit from it but there's nothing that will stop you from doing it.

To be honest, you will probably get more replay value from a solo playthrough since a single character will only be capable of solving a problem one way most of the time.
