Washington has imposed additional sanctions on Pyongyang.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department announced the imposition of sanctions restrictions on six individuals and two legal entities involved in a fraudulent scheme implemented by the DPRK to earn financial resources using North Korean "IT specialists."

Thus, the Amnokgang Technology Development Company (an IT company of the DPRK engaged in sending specialized specialists abroad, involved in illegal transactions with weapons and commercial technologies) and Quangvietdnbg International Services Company Limited (a Vietnamese company involved in cryptocurrency conversion operations in the interests of North Korea in 2023-2025, associated with "IT specialists" from Amnokgang), as well as the head of Quangvietdnbg, Nguyen Quang Viet, Do Phi Khan (a confidant of North Korean Kim Se Un previously included in the US sanctions lists), Hoang Van Nguyen (Kim's connection, participated in transactions with crypto), Yun Song Guk (a citizen of the DPRK, has been heading the group since 2023 IT specialists in Laos), Hwang Min Gwan ("IT specialist" in Laos), Hoang Minh Quang (provided IT services to Kim) and York Luis Celestino Herrera (Yuna communications).
