Wanderer Solo TTRPG (Session 11.09.25)
Eggy Sebbynotes and rules:
Wanderer Solo TTRPG is a solo-journaling and worldbuilding game by Akavel on itch.io, about the stories heard and gathered by a wanderer.
On each turn of the game you roll for an episode. This means rolling 3 inspirations, and based on them, filling the following prompts:
Then the wanderer got to… {inspiration: place}
where he/she met… {inspiration: character}
and thus heard a story… {inspiration: story}.
To roll an inspiration you should roll two motifs and interpret them as a **path + object**. This path can mean a way, an activity, an attribute. This object can mean a goal, a thing, a resource, a final idea. The helper prompt here is: “Through {path} to {object}”. Or (as always) you can treat them loosely and change in any way at any moment!
You can check the full rules in the given link above. I played the game with a much looser rules, though; which is still encouraged by the game creator, as the point of the game is to have fun :3
the Themes:
- Adventure
- Fantasy
- Fairytale land
Episode 1
Prompt:
- The wanderer got to (place: darkness + jewelry)...
- where they met (character: sunrise + fog)...
- and thus heard a story (story: eclipse + enchanted).
Wanderer's journey:
That one time, the wanderer arrives in a town that is known for their craftmanship in creating jewelries made of a dark metal. He stays over a night, and in the morning, the fog rises. In the fog, he meets one of the local - or at least, he assumes the person he meets is a local; that person sure acts like one, as they helps him to walk through the fog, as if they knew the place even with closed eyes. The wanderer could not see their face, though. As the local walks him, they tell the wanderer about a legend of the town; it is said that the black ore that they discovered in the nearby mine and is now the main source of livelihood for many in that town, was once upon a time a bunch of ore that got enchanted during an eclipse. After they arrive in the place where the wanderer is looking for, he turns to his guide wanting to thank them - except, before he could, the person has already disappeared into the mist.
Episode 2
Prompt:
- The wanderer got to (place: robe + halberd)...
- where they met (character: armor + guild)...
- and thus heard a story (story: honey + fountain)...
Wanderer's journey:
Another time, the wanderer comes across a camp; they are perhaps a over a dozen or perhaps two. Each of them are clad in robe and carrying a halberd. The wanderer then meets the leader of this group, one who wears armor under their robe; he explains that they are from an adventurer guild. As the wanderer joins them for the night, and they share food and tales over the campfire, the wanderer hears the tale of a certain magic fountain, perhaps created and maintained by faeries and spirits, that instead of water, is instead flowing with honey. Though, no one really knows where this fountain really is; perhaps, if it is created by the fairy folk, then it is located in the fae realm.
Episode 3
Prompt:
- The wanderer got to (place: sword + garden)...
- where they met (character: poison + gem)...
- and thus heard a story (story: minstrel + blood).
Wanderer's journey:
A while after, the wanderer arrives in a big city for once. One of the main tourist attractions of the city, is a garden called "Sword Garden". It is a garden filled with statues of past heroes and public figures, adorned with real swords that they had once wield in their lifetime. If a public figure had never wielded a knife, then a knife is made upon their passing away, and is displayed by their statue.
As the wanderer is taking a stroll in that garden, he meets a man standing by one particular statue. From his gem-adorned attire, the wanderer assumes that the man is a nobleman. The nobleman is luckily a friendly one; he chats with the wanderer, and tells him the story of the statue before them. He says the man was a hero who slew a vampire in disguise of a minstrel in the past; the vampire would sing, and thus charm and hypnotize her victim, and thus she would prey upon their blood.
Later that day, in the tavern where the wanderer has chosen to stay, he hears another story; that the hero whose story he heard in the Sword Garden earlier that day was granted title of a noble as well and had descendants who still live in that city. But there is a rumor that their descendants are known to have poison in their blood - which is a result of unholy union between mortal and supernatural being... such as the vampires.
