Vít Pavlišta (born 22 March 1985) is a Czech long-distance runner that earned a qualifying time for the marathon at the 2016 Olympics. Pavlišta has won national championships in mountain running, the half marathon, and the marathon. This includes the 2015 marathon title. He also finished second in the 2007 Běchovice – Prague Race and other national podium finishes. He has a background in nordic combined. He is considered an amateur runner.

2016 European Athletics Championships – Men's half marathon
The men's half marathon at the 2016 European Athletics Championships took place on the streets of Amsterdam on 10 July. The start and finish of the race were on the Museumplein. Due to 2016 being an Olympic year the marathon is replaced by a half marathon. This is the first time that the half marathon has been run during the European Championships.

2018 Czech Athletics Championships
The 2018 Czech Athletics Championships (Czech: Mistrovství České republiky v atletice 2018) was the 26th edition of the national outdoor track and field championships for the Czech Republic. It was held on 28 and 29 July at the Municipal Stadium Sletiště in Kladno. The host club for the competition was AC Tepo Kladno. The same venue is used for the annual TNT – Fortuna Meeting combined events meeting. Several events were held separately from the main track and field competition. The 10,000 metres took place in Brno on 28 April, the marathon championships were held within the annual Prague Marathon on 6 May, and the 20 kilometres race walk championships were held within the annual Poděbrady Race Walking meet in Poděbrady on 7 April. The men's 50 kilometres race walk was cancelled.

The 2021 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships (abbreviated WMTRC 2021) was an inaugural event which combined the World Mountain Running Championships and IAU Trail World Championships. The event was organised by the World Mountain Running Association, International Trail Running Association and International Association of Ultrarunners sanctioned by World Athletics. It was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from November 4–6, 2022.

Czech Republic Marathon Championships
The Czech Republic Marathon Championships is the annual national championships for marathon running in the Czech Republic. The race serves as a way of designating the Czech national champion for the marathon. The race was first contested in 1993 for both men and women. The championships have been held at different venues, but since 1998 all events have taken place in the capital city of Prague. The fastest time recorded in the Czech Republic Marathon Championships is 2:12:35 by Róbert Štefko during the Prague Marathon in 2004. The record women's time, set in 1995 in Pardubice, is 2:27:00 by Alena Peterková. Athletes with the most championships are Petra Pastorová, with six women's titles, and Petr Pechek, with five men's titles. The only other runner with five titles is Ivana Martincová.
